Thoughts on London
I have now been in London 7 days. I came here with very low expectations but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. Here are my first impressions:

Positive
- One of the world's most Alpha cities
- Girls in general are much hotter than I anticipated
- Black girls are very hot. Slim with T&A
- Many hot European girls but hardly any East Asians
- Obesity is almost non-existent here, maybe due to lack of cars
- People are way friendlier than I anticipated, even on the Tube
- Beer is cheap: £2.50 for a pint at happy hour, £3.50 normally
- Clothes are cheap. Strong presence of international retailers (Zara, H&M, Next, River Island, Uniqlo)
- People here dress very, very well
- Strong theatre culture. Cheap to get tickets
- Police allow you to drink beer on the streets
- Supermarkets sell beer
- Fantastic pubs
- Clubs are generous with their passouts
- Some of the national newspapers feature girls with their tits out
- Not yet a total police state
- Notting Hill Carnival. Not bad.
- Went to Penthouse Club in Leicester Square. Decent.
- Saw incredibly hot chicks lining up en masse outside DSTRKT in Leicester Square. Keen to go.
- Heard good things about Shoreditch/Dalston/Camden. Will check these places out soon.
- It has rained only once.
- Good supermarkets, TV shows and newspapers.
- Strong WiFi integration.
- Black guys have strong game.
- Incredible history and cultural treasures

Negative
- Rent is ridiculously expensive. So expensive I can't see how it doesn't fuck up logistics for players here. Surely they would be forced to live on the outskirts of the city rather than in the centre. Unless willing to pay around £700+ per month.
- Very common to find people are paying 40%+ of their income on rent
- Taxis are super expensive. 20p for just 10secs.
- The Tube is also expensive. Before I had an Oyster card I blew £4.50 on a 5 stop ride.
- In sum, I'm not sure how guys here "pull" girls back to their place as in my opinion logistics are 50% of game. Here decent logistics entail massive costs.
- Abundance of shitty coffee chains: Starbucks, Pret A Manger, Costa
- So many CCTV cameras I think I'm living in Orwell's 1984. Could become a police state very quickly if orders given.
- UK pays "council tax"
- Trains don't have airconditioning
- Lack of drinking fountains. Drinking water is poor quality
- Have to stand in bathtub to have a shower.
- No fans or airconditioning anywhere
- Huge, mindblowing disparity in wealth between rich and poor. Homeless people everywhere on the city streets at night.
- People keep telling me I will get stabbed by some gang... eventually
- Posters everywhere telling people not to assault each other.
- Posters in numerous pubs and bars warning customers of thefts
- General atmosphere of mistrust and apprehension
- Londoners have mistaken "heatwave" with "sunshine".
- Things that don't quite make sense. Councillors get paid more in salary than British PM, some people earn more on benefits than they would if they got a job.
- If attending a Premier League match, can't wear opposition guernsey without fear of being assaulted by home supporters
- £10 for alcohol inside clubs. £10-20 entry fees at clubs.
- White guys so far seem too pussy to approach
- Very small fish in a very big pond.
- Many people worried and stressed about money and cost of living.

Thanks for sharing.

Based on your observations, where would you suggest living for a short few days stay for good access to nightlife & daygame?

I don't have enough experience yet to make a call.

My cousin who lives here says Shoreditch has the hottest girls. I haven't been there yet.

In my view, Leceister Square is trashy. It has a commercial edge but without real soul or character. Somewhat akin to Las Vegas. However, the girls are very hot and if this is your main consideration then go for it.

I love London and I hate London, I think your views are very positive.
The summers are nice there but the winters are very depressing, damp and grey.
The great thing about London is that there are a lot of single women from all over.
There are loads of Asians there!
It is an expensive city.
The food is not the greatest.
Girls there will shag almost anywhere, most people don't live in luxury apartments.

Great post! I'm moving there within the next few months.
My only bad experiences were with public transportation (the "chyoob" as they pronounce it) being a sardine can and unbearable in the summer.

I had no ID on me last night. Yet bouncers didn't care, in you go.

Should also add: good ratios. Seems like there are a lot of single women here. Had promoters ask me to come to their club, as a man. That has NEVER happened to me before. I think I remember reading somewhere that the city has a huge number of single women in their 20s - that's a v good thing.

RE: Thoughts on London
I'm about 40 minutes from London.

Things I disagree with are:
- People are friendly on the tubes
- Beer is only cheap if you find a very cheap supplier (often in the dodgier parts)
- Notting Hill Carnival is extremely easy for pussy if you are black. Drugs and alcohol everywhere.
- At the moment there is good weather but it can rain loads. You just never know really - very unpredictable weather. Having said that, London usually has better weather than the rest of England.

- You will generally only find the homeless people in the east, south east and north east. The more West you are the less of this stuff.
- Never seen the posters about not assulting each other
- Why do you need fans and air conditioning? It is not 35 degrees

A lot of the stuff on there I do agree with completely though. It is a completely diverse city and has so much stuff and all sorts of different people.

I'm in London tomorrow by the way

I agree that Londoners are generally civil and well-mannered people (except when they go abroad).

Most of the commuters on the tube are usually reading from what I noticed when I was there. You definitely won't see this type of guy.

My biggest gripe about London is how insanely expensive it is. It has to be the most expensive major city in the western world. That British pound goes hard...

Sounds like the OP has London pretty well sussed. Try Bricklane, Hoxston Square and the rest of East London during the day. That said Shoreditch is a dump and yes, I saw a guy get stabbed there. Check out fabric. Even if you only go once. Make.sure to cut the line by chatting to some girls queuing. You'll find many club goers don't drink a lot because it's.expensive and they're rolling.

I think you'll find all sorts of behaviour on the London Underground....it's past the days of bowler hats and umbrellas ...wearing a suit means nothing Smile

Pubs....many being bought out by developers cause of property prices...many should be protected to stop the culture being zapped...some back streets of wealthy areas are like ghost towns because of this ,and so many houses being bought be foreigners that park their money here and live elsewhere!

East Asians....London has a huge and growing Chinese pop...every high street s got a Chinese medicine/massage place...this has happened in the last 10 years.

Fatties....more and more obesity here...we are the Fat man of Europe....but we've a way to go till you get to anything close to the scale you see in the USA....I remember my first trip to Florida as a kid...some of those shorts people were wearing could have been used as parachutes!

The hottest women in the UK flock to London.

Up until they are 21 you will still find hot women - but spread through the university towns.

I'm British and I hate London its overcrowded, expensive and in my opinion once you get out of central London i.e. the tourist bits , west end etc. its a shithole. I wouldn't even class it as an British city culturally.

RE: Thoughts on London
I was talking to my cousin over a beer or two about London's rental prices.

My question to him is how do students, nurses, teachers, police officers, street cleaners, bartenders, and all the other people who make up London's vibrant social infrastructure manage to pay their rent. Especially students when the minimum wage is so low. It's around £5.50.

He said it is a serious worry and there is no easy solution. You can't have an entire city comprised of millionaires because the people that keep the city running will be priced out. If that happens, these people will be forced to work elsewhere in the UK. Streets don't clean themselves.

I was looking at Finsbury Park earlier today for accommodation. This place was a shithole miles out from the city. A room in a dingy unsanitary flat (worse than anything I've seen on Khao San Rd, Bangkok) and located within an ethnic ghetto cost £520 per month.

I will need to drop circa £700 per month to get a room in a somewhat normal sharehouse in a non-ghetto neighbourhood (I've looked on spareroom.co.uk, easyroommate and gumtree). I will be fine regardless. I'm staying here for the next 5 years because it is the smartest move for my career.

What's everyone else paying? I'm interested.

And how do ghetto looking people afford to drop £520 per month in Finsbury Park when minimum wage is so low?

RE: Thoughts on London
Your observations are reasonable but you seem quite hung up on the rent aspect. I actually think London is cheap compared to other major cities that don't have as much to offer. Moscow is way up there.... Anywhere in Scandinavia (current destination) will be atleast 2/3 times higher. I recently got back from a couple of weeks in Paris and the prices out there are outrageous... coming back to London and buying a sandwich under a fiver felt like a steal!
Unless you are in a second of third tier eastern European city, London is by far the cheapest major hub in Europe. (Berlin is best but not as many high paid career opportunities). Perhaps even more so than New york as well from what I can remember although I was there a long time ago.
It is normal to spend up to half your wages on rent. So most kids rent a room in a house share which is quite affrodable at about £400-£600 a month. Dalston and Hackney is probably the hot spot right now. No need to venture into town as everything is on your door step although it's only a 20 minute bus ride.
IMO it is transport that takes the piss. Tubes are overpriced and never take a taxi unless in a group of 4. Cycling is the most common form of transport but the roads are a little hairy.
Edit*
Yes you will find the poorest communities on benefits living amongst the wealthy in £1million houses . THis is quite normal.
You say London is Alpha but the guys don't approach... WHat does this mean out of interest? I agree that guys don't approach. It is not really the English way... hookups seem to happen naturally or through social circles depending on your clique.

Yes I think something like 1 in 5 people in the UK live in housing either subsidised or paid outright by the state. We are nearly as bad as Scandinavia regarding this socialist type regime.
