As for the game technique, I think this look a bit awkward. It would be better if she didn't see you, but if you just ran by her side and then turned back, it's weird. Granted, my opinion on this doesn't count because I have never even thought about this. Thinking back to my day game approaches, most seem to be when we are walking towards each other, or when she is sitting somewhere and I am walking by.

When I first started learning game I was part of a medium sized PUA group who whole heartedly believed that this was the only way to approach girls (the yad stop).

So I went from 0 (ie. never approaching a girl in the day) to 100 (doing bold alpha approaches that convey your interest upfront).

As a rather direct and sociable guy to begin with, I was able to manage although I still felt extremely nervous because it felt so far from normal. However, other beginners who were less socially calibrated really got hit hard. Their frame was weak and as a result they got blown out of the water by so many girls. I am talking hundreds of approached with nothing to show.

For me I think it worked great as a starting point. For others not so much.

The Yad stop for a beginner is like throwing someone who can't swim in the deep end of the pool. If you have some fight in you and learn quick it can cut through a lot of bullshit and advance you quickly. But if not, it can be detrimental and traumatizing.

For me I prefer a feet-first 'home plate' slide whereby I literally move in between her legs from behind. I make sure I keep my head up and establish eye contact the minute she notices me slipping in from behind - they I just say 'hi there'!! Make sure you maintain eye contact once she notices you - this is key!

Only problem is that you really can only do this move in the park on dirt paths, as if you try it on the sidewalk you'll scrape up your arms, pants, etc.

But in all seriousness, I agree with Gandt that this move probably is better for experienced players who run a lot of daygame - starting out this way seems to me to be jumping into the deep end too quickly, and could become pretty discouraging very fast.

Was out daygaming with my buddy a while ago. We had a thing going where once per day we could pick a girl, any girl, and the other has to approach. So I spot this beautiful girl, looked like a true 9, walking fast just ahead of us, head buried in her phone. I tell my friend this is it, he groans because it looks like a damn hard target, then he runs up around her in what is probably his first "Yad stop". Hollers at her, then out of nowhere this massive dude just materialises next to him. In the same way that this chick was the hottest at the mall, this guy was the biggest there that day, probably on the juice. A few moments of awkward chit chat, and my friend makes his way back to me.

Granted that Yad wasn't the first guy to ever stop a girl this way, but he popularized it in recent years and deserves credit for it. After watching the Daygame Blueprint it helped me understand a lot about myself and my motivations for meeting women. It's important to realize that the "Yad Stop" is just a technique for stopping a moving girl. If your inner game and self-worth are low, it'll be evident to the girl, whether you're on the street, in a club or coffee shop. Krauser has a lot of good stuff on this. I tried the indirect route, but it never felt genuine to me. I'd say the only places to start indirect are on a bus or a plane, basically anywhere where she can't leave the interaction. There are also different levels of directness. "I want to fuck you" is a lot more direct than "I think you look really nice", which is better IMHO than "Can you tell me where x,y,z is?"

You can't talk about the Yad Stop without mentioning what comes next. Maintain strong eye contact (especially for the first 10+ seconds), have a playful smile and tell her why you stopped her. The standard opener from the Blueprint is something like "Excuse me. Can I tell you something really quickly? I just noticed you walking right now and I thought you looked really nice, so I wanted to come say hello. I noticed x which made me think of y, [or] you look very x,y,z because of the way you were walking, what you were wearing" etc.

With practice you'll come up with your own variations, but the important part is to be honest about why you stopped her and engage in a conversation, focusing most of your observations on her, not a bunch of questions. I've been doing this for a year, albeit inconsistently, and I'd say I get a number or a Facebook/email about 1/3 of the time. It's been the best way to meet women for me, bar none. It's hard at first, but that's just a mental barrier that needs to be overcome. You'll get rejected and blown off, but it's never been worse than a girl simply continuing walking past me. Last summer I went from never having approached a girl like this to 100+ approaches, several dozen phone #s and dating several girls, some of which I'll be seeing when I return to Warsaw in September. For anyone considering this, don't be put off thinking that this is an "advanced technique". This isn't a martial art or a video game, if you want to meet many cool beautiful women, you have to go talk to them when you see them. I still have girls who I'm seeing remind me how thrilled they were to have me stop them and talk to them this way. It sets an amazingly strong frame from the very beginning.

I've been doing this mostly for years. It works but I didn't know it as the Yad Stop, I use it to open direct or playful.

You see girl walking towards you, let her walk past for a few seconds.
Turn and do a light playful jog and jog past her so she sees you in her peripheral vision
Stop a few yards in front so her momentum stops her at a nice distance, get your hands out with the stopping motion if you have to
Open.

I did a Yadstop yesterday..

I was in the mall and a cute olive skinned brunette walked right past me. I quickly turned and followed her. She walked out of the exit door and before the dor was closed I was right behind her. I walked quickly in front of her and as I was walking past her, I said -- "excuse me, you just walked right past me and I wanted to ask you something, are you brazilian? You remind me of the girls back home..

More guys have tried this stop? I agree it's something for advanced guys, with either success or total failure for creepiness. No middle ground.

I keep doing indirect, mostly facing the girl, or approaching at the traffic light, so she can check out whoe she's talking to and we can continue walking together in the same direction (if she doesn't stand still)

The yad stop has gotten me tons of girls but the one thing that I have always been hung up on is that it puts all your cards on the table at once.

By this I mean that there is NO CHASE for the woman after this.

It is kind of hard to BE THE PRIZE when you just interrupted your day to go up a talk to a woman by saying "I thought you looked nice".

Don't get me wrong. It is possible. You are just facing an uphill battle based on how you opened.

If I can find a clever or witty situational opener I will do it over the yad stop no questions asked. I use yad when I have nothing else to resort to.

I don't consider myself advanced at all, yet I've had very good success with this. In the past several days out of about a dozen approaches I've gotten 5 numbers from very cute women. I've done roughly 200 approaches like this in the past year vs. 1000's for guys like Yad and Krauser.

The worst thing that has ever happened is that a girl simply didn't stop and kept walking. A majority of girls are grateful for the compliment, whether or not I end up with a number. I've done this in both California and Poland so it's effective across cultures.

Indirect has it's place, but when you're walking down a busy street and you see attractive women you want to talk to, there's no better way than approaching them and honestly telling them what you think about them. Now, your not going to tell them "I think you're gorgeous and I want to fuck you", but that's sub-communicated through eye-contact, posture, vocal tone, etc. Steve Jabba at AuthenticPUA has written some great stuff on this. Check out his YouTube videos too.

My main point is that this isn't an advanced technique, any more so than learning to ride a bike without training wheels. The approach anxiety and social conditioning will seem like big hurdles at first, but believe me, do this a dozen times and your perspective will change massively. I kept a notebook with me in the beginning to note what went well or not with each approach. I never got the impression that a girl thought what I was doing was creepy. Jabba has a great quote on this, "When you approach a girl, there is really nothing at stake and only something to gain." If you're interested in dating, getting laid, etc. you've got to make this type of approach a part of your arsenal.

First time I did a Yadstop it was train wreck lol. I ran about 20 yards to a girl, no doubt she could hear my loud size 14 foot steps coming up behind her, then I yelled "excuse me" from behind...she turned around like

You basically advised running up to a girl in a dark neighborhood and telling her you want to fuck her.

If you are in fact not a toll and girls have gone home with you more than once with this method, I encourage you to make a more detailed post about your game.

Unless there are copious amounts of alcohol involved or you are a 6'4 good looking man, I think your post/advice is pretty damn useless to everyone on this forum.

Let's quit looking to witty lines and routines when what it comes down to is building your own value.
