Congratulations, Neil!!! I used to be a screenwriter in the UK and had something on TV. I know what a long and arduous process it was, which was why I was urging caution. But you seem to have found a short-cut through the system somehow and I for one am openly envious! Seriously, I wish you every success, man.

Congratulations! So many screenwriters spend years doing grunt work in Hollywood just to get their scripts read and here yours get optioned after just a few days! What were the odds? I guess if your script's good, they're good!

Neil, this is fantastic. This is what this forum is all about. I'm glad to be a part of a fraternity of men who make their dreams a reality.

That said, this in many ways could be our coming out party. Roosh said that 2013 would be the year we'd be exposed and it's scary how accurate that statement now seems in retrospect. It's important not for just Neil to laylow on his posts, but perhaps for all members to remind themselves just how 'public' this forum might become.

Roosh, I think in an exceptional case like this it might be a good idea to let Neil create a second username to contribute to the forum with, or somehow be able to wipe some of his older posts that he might not want Hollywood to see. If there's any group of people good at muckraking, it's Hollywood.

I'm no expert on BB software, but if possible it's someone worth considering.

You guys do realize Hollywood is full of weirdos and perverts? Hugh Grant got a blower from a hooker on Sunset for christ's sake. Rob Lowe banged an underage chick.

Just sit down and start writing. Spend all your free time doing it. I sometimes worked for 14 hours a day on the book but usually 6 tot 8. The most important two things: Discipline and rock solid belief in having a good story to tell. I good way to gauge a story is to explain it as many people as possible. If a two sentence log line or the title doesn't catch them then forget about it.

I've read screenplays so well written it could have been done by Shakespeare himself but after 10 to 20 pages of impressive writing the premise and the story just sucked and I put the script away.

A good example of this is World war X ( not Z with Brad Pitt) It's very well written but the story is ridiculous. It needs an X-factor or high concept as they called in Hollywood. A beautiful small niche story doesn't put butts in cinema seats a high concept story does.

I'll have to see what is left of my screenplay if they produce it. I wrote it as a red pill drama not a comedy. I was on the fence about writing a comedy or a drama for a long time. I choose the last but though I always thought a comedy would have more appeal.

Thanks for putting that in perspective. The only thing is that they are already world famous. I'm mean Charlie sheen and Robert Downey junior also made a mess of the life at some point.

High concept is the only spec-script Hollywood will buy these days, as the rest of their money goes on remakes and franchises. It's a very tough gig. There's much more originality in TV, however to get a show made you need to be in the industry already.

Right before Neil Strauss released his book, he deleted all his online posts for the same reason.

I have no idea what's in your RVF archive but it may be something to think about.
