I don't know exactly what motivated me to open it, but I did. It was some sort of pharma tracking app - take your pills on time - that sort of thing. Her listed medications - emtricitabine, rilpivirine, and tenofovir. For those of you not in the know, those are HIV/AIDS medications. I suppose if someone is going to have it, it's going to be the twentysomething probably megaslut who shows up at some random professor's house in the middle of the night to bang him. But, still...

I didn't say anything to her, and (I guess) it is possible the schedule was for someone else. Hell, maybe she was a nursing student and it was part of that. Maybe she was going to tell me. I didn't hit it.

I was freaking out (inside). And, I was getting angry. I tried to act like nothing was up and I kept the conversation going in the kitchen. Every time she made an obvious move or comment indicating she wanted to go to the living room (or probably bedroom), I just acted like a complete idiot - like I didn't understand innuendo or subtext at all. After about (approximately) another hour and a half of increasingly awkward banter, she left. She thanked me for the drinks and conversation. I asked if she wanted me to get her a ride home and she said she was fine (she hadn't had a huge amount to drink). That was that. I never saw her again.

The only other thing I did, related to this situation, was to tell a professor friend of mine that I was pretty sure "that girl" has HIV. The professor is a gossipy guy, so I figured that information would leak out to the university community. I'm still not sure how I feel morally/ethically about that move, but I don't think it's right to let someone knowingly go around exposing people like that.

*Actually there was one other thing I did, which was to have my maid clean my entire place with Biocide. I'm not an idiot when it comes to the low transmission possibility of HIV. But, that gave me a bit of germ phobia.
