I will essentially wear them anywhere. Also the fact that I am too lazy to take swap out the colors that often means that I mostly have colored laces in them.

Oddly, I only like the colored laces in my more polished, quality shoes. If they are beat up and a bit scuffed it looks off to me, a bit like lipstick on a pig or what have you.

I also see the local hipsters do this. Ancient beat to shit wingtips, no socks, jorts (rolled up) but with gold tipped colored laces. Cant stand it.

Allen Edmonds only look good in pictures IMHO. When you see them in the store, they're just not that great. For a work/dressy shoe, I prefer Italian-made shoes in the $300-400 price range (you can find Ferragamo's on sale for this price once or twice a year).
