This girl just added me to her facebook. We went to middle school together and now I'm mid twenties. I think she was interested in me back in the day but I was too scared.

How should I go about approaching this?

Ah, not trying to scare the cat away.

You can try and be all surgical and try to strike with laser precision, reading through her page, figuring out her interests, throwing out feelers, "liking" all of her posts, getting the courage up to talk to her on instant messenger...and then finally get the digits and do the same mamby pamby dance via text

or

Machine gun the fuck out of her, and try to IM from jump being all jokey jokey...

or

lay land mines with your FB posts, trying to get her to like a page or comment on something to start a "natural" dialog.

or

You can just stick a knife in the situation, "Hey I haven't seen you since we were in tight gym shorts, let's reminisce about some dodge ball at my favorite drinking establishment"
