Basically, it's an incredible pain in the ass to get a Canadian visa at the moment. I highly suggest that you don't try to apply for a visa into Canada at the moment.

I can't even get my student visa (I've been waiting for over 2 months now) and probably won't be able to attend university in September

I also read an article in Russian yesterday, which said that the Canadian embassy in Moscow is only giving out 3-5 visas a DAY at the moment (They usually give out 100 a day).
