But when you've got a couple of screaming kids with sticky fingers and snotty noses, who ruin everything they touch, I'm not worried about being 'beta' if it means I've got a safe place to keep my favourite shit.

When I was a little kid my Dad kept all of his stuff in the house where anyone could get to it including guns and ammo, which I didn't mess with because he simply said not to. Breaking the rules would get me a smack on the ass right away, with the full support of my Mom since my Dad ran the house.

If your wife won't let you discipline your own kids and is being goaded to divorce rape you, I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation. I don't think it would hurt to start scheming with a lawyer.

RE: Male Shaming: Man Caves
I think in practice man-caves only works in sit-coms as humor when the empowered wife nags the husband to the point of insanity, so he retreats in the man-cave for the next scene. Usually to talk shit.

Ex. "Married with children".
"Full House"
"The King of Queens"
etc. (I may or may not be a fan of one of those shows...)

Disciplining them isn't an issue. They're only young (2 & 4) and accidents will happen regardless of how much they fear your wrath - I'd just rather prevent them. Discipline won't unbreak your shit.

What's interesting about all this is that there are a lot of things about the average guy that I dislike from a player's perspective.. these are often the same things that feminists don't like. We differ in our reasons for not liking them.

For example, feminists and I would both agree the cat-calling on the street sucks, albeit for different reasons. They'd argue that it's harassment, I'd say that it's bad game and lame because the guys aren't being honest with themselves about what they want from situation (if they were, they actually make real effort to get the girls).

I think "man-caves" are a corny, childish beta expression/fantasy/hiding place for guys who are ruled by their wives. Feminists probably don't like it because it is a space specifically designed to exclude women.

I think that as players, we shouldn't condone cat-calling and man-caves, bad game, or any other half-assed wannabe attempt at masculine expression.

On a slightly different note, as players, I believe we understand women better than anyone on the planet. We are the true feminists because we have deep reverence for the existence of femininity and make the most of effort out of any guys in the world to make a connection. We practice the deepest empathy of our sex.

It's impossible to have a man cave in the UK, our homes are tiny compared to America. We have to have sheds, shitty little wooden sheds from B&Q. Up and down the country there are millions of men whose only place of escape is the bottom of the garden in a shitty creosoted shed.

Sad.

I don't see man caves as being beta. Before the mid 20th century-gentlemen all had their library or study which was their man cave. Society was patriarchal then.

A man just needs a space where he can have some stuff he loves and be alone with his thoughts or have a few friends for drinks and conversation

I bet a lot of guys who are thinking "Man caves are beta!" have never had the actual experience of living with a woman.

Hi guys,

I am the one who started the thread, and I must say that I totally misunderstood "man cave" with "bachelor pad". I am not from the US so I didnt understand the difference. I have noticed that many of my friends are living alone in what we can call bachelor pads or "bachelor caves" that they decorate themselves.

I live in my own "Bachelor Cave", which is very basic and functional. I have a comfortable sofa where I spend hours just reading and relaxing.

Ya, I'm not really getting how single guys are proclaiming that they own their space. Ya, of course you do. And single guys who have never even co-habitated having an opinion? What's up with that? Why do you assume any authority to think you know what you are talking about? You think setting the frame is easy?

But for the guys who do co-habitate and do set the frame, kudos.

I've been living with the same girl for going on three years now this time, and I usually do live with some girl or other. My whole house is also my man cave.

And at the same time I keep a second apartment.

No matter if you own your space or not, it's good to have a PRIVATE space.

Are those pictures of your apartment? Nice place, whoevers it is. Tatami smells nice too. Got to try that one day. I wonder how easy it is to maintain? I used to meditate in a retreat hut that was built by a Japan freak, and it was laid out in tatami.

Not too familiar with your posts around the forum, but, well, not sure what to tell you man. You got that aussie flag in your sig so I've got no doubts as to the type of woman you're with. You can't exactly tell a man to walk out on his kids but...

...get out.

The way I'd play it is to tell her to stop visiting those forums, because they are a bad influence.

But then again you have to be in a good position to begin with to try that; might not work if dread game has only just been applied for the first time.

The women that influence a man's mate are important. Don't let your wife hang around with hookers and drug users. Yes, forbid it. You are allowed to forbid associations. And tell her flat out and explain why her associations online are not trivial.

Of course that will bring things to the point of brinkmanship. You've got to decide ahead of time if you want a woman who is controllable, and if not if you are ok with letting her go and getting one.

If not, then, well, change your life such that that IS what you want. Easier said than done. Not every ape gets to be the dominant silver back, and not every man gets to be the king of his castle.

It's all about hand and value.

This is also my idea of a man cave. It's one thing to be the man of the house, but it's also nice to have your own little private "man club," in or out of the spot, where you don't have to hear anyone else and can have your male privacy. In my opinion, privacy is very much more sacred to the man than it is to the women, as women are inherently more social creatures.

And now matter how much of a tight ship you're running, I imagine it's nice to have a corner where you can completely get away from it all when you want.

To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes

Unfortunately it's not my place, but it shows me the direction that I want for my appartment / bachelor pad. Maximum functionality, minimum space, low expenses and rent but total independence and my own Kingdom.

Roosh is right, if you have a "man cave" in the house that you live in most undoubtedly paid the majority of the mortgage for, then you lost the frame a long time ago. But that's what marriage is basically, the ceding of the frame.

I can't wait to bachelor pad the fuck outta my place when I finally make my first purchase.

Good way at looking at it.

Getting married is definitely 'losing frae' from then on in. And I think both partners sense that - even the day after a wedding. It is an overnight reversal of roles...

I don't really understand what the fuss is about. There's a clear difference between a guy with man-cave who wants to escape his nagging wife and a guy who just want to have his own room to do his own things. Just don't be the first guy.

I used to have kind of a man cave. When me and girl moved in to a large house, I decided that I would use the master bedroom and thus the biggest room for a home cinema room. You think that my girl had any say in it? I paid most of the bills so I decide what to do with my house.

You think I was hiding from my own GF in that room or was just there to enjoy a movie on a 100 inch screen and the speakers on full blast. Even had cinema seats in there that shaked when there was an explosion on screen. (through the bass canal)

Found a picture. I sure miss that room.

I seriously cannot see myself giving up the way I live and how I live for a woman...i enjoy my living situation and life style , spread over 3 floors and it would take several women ( at the same time) to to get me to even consider changing that.

I understand how a married man needs a dedicated space , or one that has a live in partner but for us single red pill bastardo's, our pads are our caves and its a beautiful way to live.

Some women may hate their man having a space of his own because it represents lack of control on her behalf, because he still has somewhere that is his and his alone but if you have a women like that, you need to trade her ass in for a new model plain and simple.

A man needs his space, a space to think, grow and learn in peace and quiet...and if you cant have the entire pad to do that because your in a relationship, then do it with a dedicated space or mancave as they are now called.

A wise man once said behind every successful marriage is a garage, and I am pretty sure he was right.

Note: I have lived alone almost my entire adult life and I like it that way, the only GF i have had live with me, lasted 4 months and it ruined a 4 yr relationship so I will not go there again.

God the first picture, I'd kill for a space like that.
My entire room is a man cave.
All these rooms need are assorted firearms mounted to the wall, and you have perfection.
Everyone needs their own space!

RE: Male Shaming: Man Caves
If you're a man with serious hobbies involving potentially dangerous shit you can't just have that lying around the house and it doesn't matter if you live alone or not.

I used to be into primitive archery and knifesmithing and built bows, arrows, and general tackle - can't have broadheads, drawknives, hatchets, and planes just scattered in the living room, sitting on the bottom of drawers, on night stands or wherever. It might mess up the carpet or cause injury.

I wouldn't brew beer or hang out with friends anywhere but in my man cave, where all my cool shit, computers, video games and chairs are. Everything has it's place, and that place can be called a man cave.

This is tired and played out but "beta males" might have man caves, and might use it as an escape from a domineering wife, but owning a man cave itself or calling it a man cave isn't inherently "beta" or even male shaming. It can be a little sanctuary of self improvement. The rest of the house is just easily replaced shit you need to live; i.e, toilet, stove, fridge.

RE: Male Shaming: Man Caves
Need your own space.

Yeah, it's called your house.

The premise of a 'man cave' is that the home is hers, barring an allocated space for the man of the house.

The premise that she has agency over the home, and your space is appended so she 'grants' you your own space is what is wrong, not the room of male tastes itself.

The view that a man's space is an optional appendage, correlates to how the structure of marriage 2.0 and divorce rape makes the man himself an appended figure, something that orbits on the periphery and is there at the whim of female flavour.
