October-December. Can I avoid the rain & have fun in Colombia?
Hey all - really love this forum. Some excellent info in here!
Maybe you can help me - I've got late October to mid December available to go back to South America. My Spanish is excellent (I've been mistaken as a native Spaniard on several occasions, I'm actually Irish) and I was leaning towards Colombia... but I hear that I'll be going during the rainy season!
So my questions for anyone is: Should I take this into consideration? Will it dampen (pun intended) my fun during my stay there? If so can you recommend an alternative in South America? I have already lived in Argentina (3 months) and Brazil (9 months) so would prefer to discover something new.
My priority is somewhere that would make it easy to get a nice apartment with Internet to work from, some cool parties, fun girls, nice nightlife, relatively safe and modern (by South American standards anyway - I never had problems even in "dangerous" cities like Recife in Brazil) and interesting activities during the day. Am Reading Roosh's Colombia guide right now to see if any info in there helps! Smile

You can never go wrong with Colombia. Especially if its your first time there.....rain or shine, you'll fuck either way - just make sure you have them lined up as it seems that Colombian women stay indoors when it rains, so you better sharpen your day game, to have a silky smooth latina servicing yoru crown during rainy nights...the memories.

Thanks Mixx, but I'm not worried about my game Wink I just wanted to know if the rain would make the experience less fun and if I'd be better going somewhere else and coming back to Colombia another time. We have plenty of rain in Ireland and I prefer to avoid it - should I go to Medellín to get some more summer-like weather? I can see from Wikipedia that once October is gone the rain seems to go back to normal.

If you want more summer type wheather go to Cali....it is raining more than usual in Medellin this year. I was in Medellin the middle of July for 5 days and it rained every day I was there which is unusual... maybe it won't rain during the rainy season this year. jajaja

How big of a deal is the rain in October? Is it a continuous downpour, short bursts and clear for most of the day, or a light drizzle all the time? I've already booked my flight to Medellin for Oct 6th and this will be my first trip to SA. I didn't realize that Colombia gets almost 9" of rain during October. Can anyone speak from experience on how this affected their trip? Does nightlife really suffer when it rains this much? How should one adjust their game plan?

its just part of life, I live in costa rica on and off and its rainy season there too, it just rains, life goes on... I wouldnt worry too much.... it does keep in some girls as Mixx said, but there are so many girls here that when you take a few fish out of the barrel, the barrel is still filled with fish. Smile

Hit up colombia, I love it here. Pretty reliable internet in all the major cities. Hottest girls are the Paisas. Medellin, or for the sluttier girls Cali Smile
