RE: Do women even like men, or only their resources?
I'd say yes, but resources could mean a lot of things. Since human nature hasn't changed for millenia, there are certain things that nearly all women find attractive(humor, muscles, social skills, etc.)
Past the initial attraction why a woman stays with certain man is a more difficult question to answer. In my experience it depends mainly on her social and psychological upbringing.
The girl could just want to be fucked right, want companionship, to be loved, adventure, social status, money, a place to live, drugs, etc. the list goes on and on.
I'm sure in your friends situation there were signs that she was going to bounce and was just using him. Chances are he liked this girl and was blind to them, but if he looked hard enough the signs would be pretty apparent.
I'm a pretty observant guy, and I can size people up pretty fast. If I'm considering dating a girl, I usually get a good read in a few minutes.
I also try to learn about her parent's relationship with each other because I think that's huge, many times it sets the mold for all her relationships.

Am I alone on this one?
No, this happens to all of us.
We know that the sweet, good looking, family oriented girl would make a great mother.
However, our dick still wants a hot slut.
Our attraction to either one can come and go.
We need variety.

I think I then put her in a "potential wife/potential mother of my children" and I completely lose sexual attraction.
Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal, for a playboy.
We recognize and react to good women.
But, eventually our playboy instincts take over. We know we cannot be with just one woman, so our mind starts to rationalizes ways to move on to the next girl.

You are fucked.
If, you want to settle down with one woman and live a monogamous lifestyle.
On the other hand, if you want to be a playboy? You should be fine.

Assuming that for the first few months at least you'll be fucking like rabbits, then 100 times is under a month, or 3 months max.
I've been with the same girl for three years this time, and we still have a lot of passion and fuck at least once a day. Yes, it is still a lot of fun.
YMMV, but I've heard similar stories from plenty of other men. Sex lives often deteriorate, but it's not a given, by any means.

RE: Do women even like men, or only their resources?
Plenty of men enjoy fucking their wives into old age.
One survey looked at the sex lives of married people by age. They found that:
Between 18-29, married people had sex 112 times a year, or a little over twice a week.
Between 30-39, they had sex 86 times a year, or about seven times a month.
Between 50-59, they had sex 69 times a year, or a little under six times a month.
Sex appears to declines further as couples get older. Although frustrated married people can romanticize the sex lives of swinging singles, studies show that married people have more sex than single people
Being truly dominant a woman will indulge your every fantasy and crave you. Being an asshole isn't being dominant, it is just being a asshole.
If you are bored while fucking a girl you are just as at fault as she is, you probably bore the shit out of her too and probably need to learn how to fuck. Learn Tantric or Tao.
Not that a chick can't get fat and unattractive but if you are the husband it is because you let her get fat.

RE: Do women even like men, or only their resources?
Roosh posted an article from the spearhead on Twitter the other day that goes to the heart of what this thread is about:
http://www.the-spearhead.com/2013/07/05/...exual-men/
Quote:To be seen by women as super-attractive and desirable just because I have significant financial resources disgusts me. It is objectification pure and simple. The last I heard, most women were strongly opposed to objectification, but their behavior shows that’s a lie. When I was not so well off, many women wouldn’t even give me the time of day. As I see it, American women are increasingly mercenary, or perhaps just significantly more willing to show their long-standing gold-digger inclinations. Some are even proud of what I am coming to appreciate is the intention to commit extortion.
...
The next element is the (3) money or resources obtained thereby. Most young women I know don’t want to be some high-powered corporate executive, or for that matter any other type of wage earner. Instead they want to stay home and have kids, and they want a man to make that possible by paying for her to live that lifestyle. On a basic level, it makes sense that women would want a man to provide resources so that her offspring can do well, but this fundamental old-fashioned motivation has been twisted for selfish monetary purposes, twisted to the point where it is no longer recognizable. The extortionate and forced transfer of money and resources from men to women is now at the expense of (a) male freedom, (b) male self-determination, and © basic human decency. The fact that men are thrown in jail for not paying child support, in many instances for not paying money they don’t have, that shows that this is not a system based on either a man’s ability to pay, or a policy intended to promote harmonious family arrangements. Thanks to misguided chivalry, the strident and ceaseless complaints of feminists, the compliant white-knight politicians who respond to the feminist demands, and the widespread greed of women, America’s legal system now provides for the institutionalized extraction of money and resources from heterosexual men.

A girls looks are not trivial.
To us they aren't, but liking a women solely for her looks is considered "trivial" by most women I've known. Almost every beautiful women I've ever met has wanted to be known as "more than a face"
Many women want a man of means, what's the problem with that?
Many men want a good looking women, what's the problem with that?
I don't see why people are complaining that women want someone with something going in their life. That's common sense.

(07-12-2013 12:03 AM)Vitriol Wrote: If women really are that way, so be it.
Precisely. Humans are what they are. 10,000s of years of selection ensured that we see mostly what worked in the past:
- our male ancestors who were attracted to young, healthy, fertile females bred more.
- our female ancestors who were attracted to powerful males with resources lived longer, and their children survived at higher rates.
Male hominids who were more interested in looking at the stars than fucking female hominids most likely bred less than those who were interested in tits & ass. After some 100s of generations, that which worked in the past becomes dominant, a bit like the mutation that led to lactase persistence in Northern Europeans spreading to virtually all of Europe.
To bitch and moan that this reality is not fair is a waste of time. Humans are not saints, they are merely a living reminder of what worked in the past, plus a bunch of genetic randomness that may be filtered out by natural selection in the next 1000s of years.
