Respect to the forum,

I'm a long time reader of Roosh's blogs and recent lurker to this forum. The threads on living, working and gaming in China made me sign in. I hope I'll give some insight, but mostly I hope for suggestions in my road to game in this new environment.

So, a brief summary, and in later posts I'll go in detail.

I landed an engineering gig in western China, and I'll be living/working/gaming in Xian and surrounding smaller cities for the next year or so. At this moment, I'm in my third week in Xian.

This area is unlike Beijing or Shangai, according to stories. Less money to go around, locals less used to foreigners. Xian is an university city with 50 universities, not a typo.

my assesment of the situation:

Pros: I have access to both first tier and second tier cities. I'm white, built, (190 lbs with~ 12% body fat, muscled, abs pop out in some poses), tall (6 ft, that's equivalent to 6ft 6in in China), money (not going into details, but my income here will far surpass a typical teaching job, probably will have access to a SUV through job). China game leans towards beta, so given my betaness, would be less of a hurdle. Mandarin spoken here is both better understood throughout China and easier to learn (they skip on one level of vowel accents here). Access to college girls, since coffee shop where English is understood is almost always a college area shop. Lots of attention bestowed upon me, but not sure if it qualifies under IoI, or just seeing a white man. Noticeably more of it in the second tier cities. Gym seems like a really good place for game here.

Cons: Absolute beginner in Mandarin, while locals speak no English. Working hours too long, less time for game. Beta Max with great approach anxiety. Was expecting housewives ready to refresh their sexless marriages, found none that fit the description (only college girls and leftover women for me?). Need to get acquainted with local customs/behaviours, since I really cannot read Chinese faces. Disgust towards some parts of Chinese mentality (in particular treatment of dogs). No social circle of people my age so far. Cannot reach any info on prostitution and massage parlors, goddamn language barrier and the Great Firewall of China.

That's it for the intro, I'll get into stories and specifics in later posts.

This will be a journey of effort, mistakes and progress. Any comments, criticisms or suggestions are more than welcome.

If you're going to be making money and not having much time, why not just do online game, or even p4p if you want to go that route (I don't think youd need to though) take a lot of that money, and buy real estate eithe rin China, HK, Korea or Japan, and then in a few years time, live off the money from renting out your real estate, and/or use that money to buy successful businesses ala buffet style?

then you'd be pretty set to do whatever, whenever.

Online game in China is an option I'd like to entertain, but not really high on my list. I'm afraid I'd just end up with lower quality girls looking to get married ASAP.

As for money, it wouldn't be that much, although if this year-long project spills into more projects, it could end that way.

Look forward to hearing your journey with interest. Sounds like you have a good grasp of your advantages and disadvantages. I don't have experience in China, but I think the language barrier is going to be your biggest issue. I would study and practice as much as possible, but if I was working long hours and knew I would only be spending one year in China, as opposed to several, I'd be tempted to make only token efforts at language learning and instead focus on finding a niche of English speaking girls to mine.

Just looked at Xi'an on wiki - has a large population, decent climate, loads of universities and is somewhat off the beaten track for foreigners in China. Sounds ideal. How is the air pollution?

Air pollution is horrible.

I looked forward to seeing the sun rise on my first day, jet lag and my appartment is on the 14th floor looking eastward. Couldn't make out the solar disc until 6:30 A.M. because of the pollution. The pollution levels are announced here every hour, and some of the locals wear surgical masks on the street. I have to inform myself further about it.

Based on the description Chrysalis gave us, this is brutal advice.

I don't see any benefit to recommending to a man that he go p4p.

Especially on a forum dedicated to self-improvement

I can understand some online dating to pipeline when pressed for time or in new areas. It sounds like he already has the looks/body aspects working in his favour, and he's doing a good job maintaining that.

But he clearly lays out his confidence and approach issues, its obvious he needs to get out of his comfort zone and take action that way.

Don't even get me started on the financial advice...

I sorry but I just can't stop laughing when I see you describing your physical appearance in detail. As a Chinese man, I can say Chinese woman can't care less about it. They absolutely don't care if you have six packs or not, they don't care if you are over-weight. They even despise man with too good body type because it implies either spend too much time working-out and less focus on making money or playboy type which makes them insecure. (Body-building trainers, athletes, most models or other jobs with physical activity dont make good money) The only thing they care is height (180-185cm perfect) because if affects next generation. Good looking or not is pretty much useless for woman after college.

It is all about social status and financial situation.

So, height and financial situation?

I'm 5'8" which is average for a Chinese man (I'm white). Do you think being Caucasian and relatively wealthy would compensate? Or are the hotter girls in China ruthlessly picky about height? I'm thinking of the 8s and 9s here.

It is my understanding that the factors you named matter for marriage, which I want to avoid at all costs, and that reverse matters for NSAs, which is what I'll be concentrating on.

I'll document my experiences in detail, and see if it's so.

I took a shit test to the face

I'm in a college coffee shop, sitting with a frail 8 and her two beta orbiters, one is clearly gay, other is a chub that will succeed in life and get girls by his success. Good luck with that.

An old game truth confirmed yet again

Talking to a married couple, he's early 50s, 6ft3, good guy, German, beta. She's early 30s, a bit chubby, Chinese, they have a daughter, 4, not a hint that she's half white. White race is full of recessive genes.

I wouldn't worry about just meeting girls online who are looking for marriage, there are girls on there who are looking to get laid. There profile will probably say otherwise but you can figure it out pretty quick when you meet them.

Head to the Bell Tower Youth Hostel bar and make friends with the girls there (they speak English), not that hot but you can then find it easier to access other groups there. My girlfriend says thats where the locals who want to get laid go. Not sure if that is true or not but worth a look, there is a small selection of imported beers and Western food at reasonable prices to.

Sounds like you were speaking to a real traditional girl with the nightclub issue. The "good girls don't go to nightclubs/bars" deal seems to be changing.

With so many universities there will be plenty of college age girls who speak passable English. Just got to find out where they hang out. You could go as far as as attending English Corners, but to me thats a bit creepy.

I wouldn't entirely agree that your looks are insignificant to Chinese women. As as a long term prospect, maybe much less so. For short term/affair, more so.

Oh, how wrong you are. It is not normal for a bank teller to tell her client that he's handsome. Traditional girl may emphasize her dislike of nightlife, but to put it in such a wide scope and "advise" me is a shit test. If there was no frame holding, there would have been no invitation to see the secretary that's aching for a foreign boyfriend.

And game concepts actually facilitate normal interactions, never mind if it's with a hot girl, or a child or a grandma. Beta as I am, I took these lessons to heart.

I think Celtic_Austrian is right though, relax a little. Its pretty normal here for girls to tell you that you are handsome, including in professional situations. You will get guys saying it to you as well, it doesn't mean they are gay.

Remember you don't really need to game like in the West. Just be charming, funny, interesting, make them feel comfortable and keep control on the interaction, no need to over think things.

I'd say medium. Girls here take care not to get fat (although one does encounter pigs), and there's a lot of spinners, also long hair is the standard, but, there's a distinct lack of asses and boobs and long legs, also girls aren't hairy, which is good, but that also means they don't touch up their body hair, so whiskers abound.

Lots of 8s, but 9+ are scarce. Works for me, but a higher level player would be dissapointed.

And I do need to add, the myth about a tiny schlong in China is true, judging from what I've seen in the locker room. So less competition.

5'8" is a neutral number, you neither take advantage or disadvantage from that. Chinese girls are not ruthlessly picky about height otherwise more than 80% of Chinese man will die alone. 180-185cm is just the ideal height. Actually Chinese woman always first sacrifice man's physical appearance,humor,or else for better job, attentiveness and so on. In more than 80% situation, a stunning woman will marry a mediocre man with condo,decent job, and focusing on her need. One family one kid policy has been conducted for more than 30 years, kid has been spoiled.

For 22+ girls (lost virginity, broke heart by man for 1+ times) will actively seek future husband type guy. China is still conservative comparing to US or SA. It is either ONS which nobody knows or the girl will seek future husband type. Dating foreigner is some what a stigma to upper class girls.
