RE: Cronut Craze Taking NYC By Storm
If I queue up for anything, I feel like a complete cunt. No matter what is, whether it's waiting for an ATM or waiting for a seat in a restaurant, I feel like an utter, utter cunt. I abhor queuing.

The fact that these people have gone out of their way to queue up for hours before the shop even opens is a testament to the absolute cuntery that they possess, and they're completely fine with it.

The biggest cunt is the one who gets there the earliest, hours before the people who get there hours before the shop opens, to be the front of the queue.

I tell you what would be a better waste of their lives: going onto the internet on their smartphones while they're queuing for a cronut, and googling the cronut recipe. Then queuing up outside the supermarket for the ingredients to make it themselves.

I completely agree, I hate hate waiting in line for anything, but if you're going to do it might as well be for a good reason, like giving blood or something, but this, this is just sad. I don't even want to punch those people, I just want them to disappear from the face of the earth and stop wasting oxygen.

I look at it differently. I look at the owner.

People buying stupid fucking ed hardy t-shirts for $100?
People fall into stupid MLM scam?
Girls falling for a PUA who doesn't have a job?

Be that owner. Imagine the owner is laughing at this people waiting in line as he look at the surveillance monitor while counting money.

guys, do you think I should sell this thing?

I think it's a fad thing. obviously it's stupid to open up the Cronut shop.
I already have a dessert store so I can just add it no problem. I can take advantage of First Cronut in my state till the fad dies.
the only problem is.....I don't know how to make it....don't have a fryer and hood in my business lol

Maybe I can work on some recipe but not sure how to compare it to the original one.....

In contrast to all the negativity regarding this story, I'd like to point out that it's a kick in the face to people who complain that all the good ideas are taken.

I don't queue up either, but I'd love to be the guy ringing that register at the front of that line.

The biggest problem is just that: zombies.

America has been turning into a bunch of smartphone-using, social media whoring zombies that are more and more incapable of social interaction.

People wait in line for hours while on their phone just so they could post instagram photos to show that they're doing what everyone else is doing. They're seeking validation from people to like their photos and give them attention via social media, getting constant dopamine stimulation in order to make their worthless lives seem cool.

Seeking validation from strangers. Strangers they have nothing in relation with. Making them feel like a unique, little snowflake.

Even while hanging out with friends they'll be taking more pics of their activities in order to seek more validation.
Instead of actually enjoying each others' company and having a good time.

It's good to see the fatties have a new food trend since the collapse of cupcakes.

The fattest among us will be quite happy about this development also:

'Sweetest comeback': Twinkies to hit shelves July 15
June 23, 2013 at 3:47 PM ET

Twinkies will return to store shelves by July 15, 2013, after its predecessor company went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with unions last year. The brands have since been purchased y Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management.

Hostess is betting on a sweet comeback for Twinkies when they return to shelves next month.

The company that went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with its unionized workers last year is back up and running under new owners and a leaner structure. It says it plans to have Twinkies and other snack cakes back on shelves starting July 15.

Based on the outpouring of nostalgia sparked by its demise, Hostess is expecting a blockbuster return next month for Twinkies and other sugary treats, such as CupCakes and Donettes. The company says the cakes will taste the same but that the boxes will now bare the tag line "The Sweetest Comeback In The History Of Ever."

I trolled an article by stating that Hostess is un-American to not debut their return on the 4th instead of the 15th because it's my right as a fatass American to indulge in process Franken garbage. Massive downvotes, accusations of traitor and non union supporter ensued.Angel

I don't think the intent of this thread was to knock the hustle, or the hustler. However, I'm like many in that I don't do lines that I don't have to. I certainly wouldn't to get a donut, no matter how tasty. I HAVE to wait on lines at the airport, grocery store and post office, but I try to avoid them anywhere else. I do admire the fact that he can get folks to line up around the block for his creation.

I'm sure they're tasty, I'd try one at 10 am on a Tuesday morning when there was no line.

Yep...you see this every day. As more and more stores and other businesses get pushed out, and developers buy up more and more buildings and lots, everyone but the most wealthy will get pushed out of Manhattan. The only somewhat affordable apartments will be glorified closets, or you'll have to have 3 roommates to afford to live in a decent apartment. You really see it way over on the west side pushing towards the Hudson, where there are a lot of garages, storage facilities, the railyards, etc. All you see going up are high-rises, apartments in which most can't afford.

For all you SWPL out there with no point to your worthless lives, I bring you wine soaked popcorn.

FTA:

Artisan popcorn maker Populence teamed up with the New Zealand winery Kim Crawford to create two new wine-soaked popcorn flavors: Pinot Noir Chocolate Drizzle and Sauvignon Blanc Kettle, ABC-News reported.

"I love combining organic heirloom and whole ingredients to create gourmet popcorn flavors. To me, the perfect snack satisfies both a sweet and salty crunch but remains low in calories, low in fat, and is gluten-free made with all-natural ingredients," Maggie Paulus, founder of Populence, said in a statement. "I began making my own gourmet popcorn flavors to satisfy my cravings in a healthy way."

JNF:

The name populence makes me want to vomit. Vomit on SWPL, preferably turning their wine soaked popcron into vomit soaked popcorn.

Only $28 or a one gallon tin.

I want to launch this but can't find a baker. I basically told them (craigslist) they make the cronut and I will buy from them.
So as it gets popular, we will share the pie. 5 people flaked out so far.
Does it sound shady? or people are just lazy?

I am sure those employees are making cronuts like a slave in the back but they will just get paid $XX an hour no matter what.....
