All right, enough hanging around the Everything Else subforum. I've been working on my ramble in both english and spanish, getting re-acclimated to shooting the shit in a relaxed manner.

It's been enjoyable seeing Nomad77 and soup's gaming progress in the last year. They've both come up with useful insights over that time. I too would like to track my notches and knowledge. This could be written in a physical journal, but after having a conversation about business with an successful buddy of mine, I think it's important get other perspectives from people I respect. What better place to come under scrutiny than the logical and results-oriented forum that is RVF?

The last couple weeks, I've made sure to run errands when everyone else is likely to, as El-Mech suggested. Benny Lewis aka IrishPolyglot recommends making 100 errors a day when learning a language. I aim for that many mistakes when chatting up people in spanish. This error-inclusive method has pushed me into a more objective mindset. I don't have as much ego investment when approaching as I did 10 or even 5 years ago.

Ten years back I felt like an imposter when doing canned lines. Five years ago, there'd been sightings of the Hypergamy Hamster. It was like seeing Bigfoot. "Was that real or just my imagination?" That is to say, I'd seen glimpses of the shit girls could do, but couldn't reconcile it to my map of reality. My outmoded sense of morals were restrictive.

After reading about all the dirt and BS on Everything Else, I've come away with thicker skin. The principles of self-improvement, inner game, and cultivating masculinity has been repeated so often as to be internalized. Not to say that everything has been figured out, but I do think I have a more solid psychological base to operate from.
