I think this actually a really good article. It could've easily been written by a "direct game" or "natural game" coach.

While the author doesn't logically accept the power of strong, unapologetic physical escalation AT THE MOMENT (because she's not drunk in a club and aroused, where that logic would quickly disappear), she's pretty spot on about the other aspects of game. Namely:

- treating each unique situation with awareness and not pushing through with some routine when it's clearly not appropriate and not working
- being honest and direct
- treating a woman as an accomplice to her own seduction, who actually WANTS to be seduced and WANTS to have sex and leading her there smoothly
- dropping the 'fake till you make it' stuff and actually becoming the kind of guy who you want to be

All solid advice IMO.

Agree with your post. But it doesn't work well for an ordinary guy on this forum

The main issues here are this kind of approach:

- doesn't have an effect on younger girls in their prime (exceptions only)
- most of the girls have short attention span & will blow you off instantly (you're uninteresting, not entertaining them)
- you'll loose many many notches with waiting and leaving her to do her own part ('why waiting if there is so many new available cocks around me?' attitude)
- works well only on mature ones (consequently, older and usually way out of their prime)
- has a great effect if the girl herself is exclusively into LTR with you and/or has conservative views of relationships, sex etc. (again, not many of them)
- works only if the girl is into you from the very start (you're her type)
- you must invest more time (and money) to get into her panties while you could spend it for doing other, more important things instead
- it's a massive numbers game, likelihood of getting laid often is minimized
- I disbelieve it has a noteworthy effect in America

So, if you're searching for LTR and exclusive relationship (while getting a scarce number of lays), this is a viable option. But, if you're in a search of new notches and only having fun, then your dick will suffer long dry spells.

Most guys just getting into game are spergs. The "fake it til you make it" line is necessary because some of them have never kissed a girl or gotten laid, and it's a natural behavior because you can ask these guys just getting into the program and a lot of them will just lie and say "Two notches" or whatever when it's probably zero.
The problem here is that the Salon articles clearly don't know what they're talking about (it figures) and believe that this minor deception (having confidence) won't actually become a self fulfilling prophecy once the aspiring PUA has gotten like ten or fifteen notches. It's written by women who have easy access to sex whenever they want it so the "get laid = confidence" is not something that they can grasp. It's funny that they title their paragraph "Get real self confidence", because in my opinion that's exactly what pickup does.

I don't know what they think 'fake it til you make it' applies to (pretend to be an astronaut or a senator?) but my guess is that they think it's just directly lying to girls. They think lying is not being used as a social lubricant to avoid boner-killing situations, but rather as the hook point to extort sex.

Solid advice for someone who already has a bunch of women at his disposal, who he fucks on a regular basis. For those who came here specifically because they aren't in that position, they're probably going to need to put in all of the work the first guy did before they'll be at the point where they can do that. Most people have a lot of misconceptions in their head that are hard to get rid of, and not a whole lot of confidence.

Someone who's just finally pushed through getting their first kiss after meeting a girl at a club probably isn't going to have the presence of mind to continue with the sharp game that makes girls wet - they're just going to have a boner. A lot of dudes won't know what to do at this point, especially if they're just getting into game. These guides are obviously aimed at the entry level, budding wannabe players. They are at this level for a reason - because they don't know how to do these things. Women sometimes forget that results only come before work in the dictionary...

Well said guys. Sometimes I forget how long and hard the journey has been to get to where I'm at now. And how UNnatural a lot of the things I do unthinkingly now used to be.

However... when I really began making breakthroughs is when I started conveying my intentions and desires to women directly and early on in interactions, EVEN IF my opener happened to be ostensibly 'indirect'.

In other words, there's no reason to fake it till you make it with the most fundamental thing. Which is expressing your manhood and sexuality unapologetically, taking full ownership and responsibility for it and putting it out there. You can stop faking that today. And put it out there. That's the core, the catalyst...the rest is just time and experience.
