If Cleveland loses after having a 3-1 lead in the series, they will never be in the World Series again. I hope the Cubs and the crybaby fans lose big tonight!

For one city to be on both ends of 3-1 series comebacks within 6 months has gotta be kind of a big deal. In championships no less.

I told my brother earlier today that the Cubs needed at least a two run lead after the first 5 innings. They have struggled with Cleveland's bullpen, but done well when scoring early. They have done that tonight. Now Hendricks needs to tighten his game and keep Cleveland off the board.

Cubs need to stop making stupid errors. The infield looks like little league tonight.

2 runs on a wild pitch. What the fuck is Maddon thinking? Hendrix was cruising.

Lester makes a mistake, but Ross... damn.

I was honestly hoping for a 9th inning collapse by the Cubs to devastate their fans. If they do win it, good for them.

Why is this game being more hyped up than other WS games in previous years? Is it because the cubs finally don't suck?

@CR

The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908. It's been one of the most iconic championship droughs in North American sports for decades. There's all kinds of folklore behind it.

They are also the most high profile team in Baseball that is not named the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox. They have fans in every corner of the United States.

---

I am following this game, but find myself cheering slightly more for the Indians. Even though the Cubs have their 108 year drought, they are still the favourites, while Cleveland are the underdogs. I already saw Boston break a curse in 2004, I don't need to see that again.

Not a follower of Baseball but everyone (in real life and the media) keep talking about it as if humanity depends on it.

Besides what was said above, there's a legend that the Cubs were cursed to never win a World Series after a man brought a goat to one of the games in 1945. They kicked him out because his goat stunk and he cursed them to "not win anymore around here" for doing it. People bought into it because the Cubs didn't even appear in a World Series between then and now, and it lets the sports media craft a fairy tale narrative.

The Cubs have a massive fan base because at one point WGN broadcasted their games all over the country. The Atlanta Braves similarly have fans all over because of the years on TBS.

Tied up in the bottom of the eighth! The whole series comes down to this.

Hendricks was dealing. Maddon was crazy for lifting him, especially after overusing Chapman the night before, and he paid the price. We'll see if it costs the Cubs the series.

Maddon micro-managed this game into extra innings and possibly cost the Cubs the World Series.

- Not trusting his bullpen in Game 6 and pitching Chapman with a 5 run lead.
- Pulling Hendricks and Lester far too early.
- Calling for a Baez to bunt with two strikes when a semi-deep fly ball scores Heyward.

Cubs rally in the 10th...could the curse be dead?

Maybe you bring back Arrieta to pitch the bottom of the 10th. The Dodgers did that in game 7 of their series against the Nats, rolling out Kershaw to close out the deal after he had just pitched Game 6.

I called my mom to see if she is watching the game. She says "Do you see this Indians pitcher(closer Shaw)? How is he playing with a body like that?" FUnny! He does have a dad bod. And he just lost the Indians the game.
