Yeah It really depends on where the Americans are from. Quite simple to me...people from the Noth East (DC to Boston) in any of the major metro areas are almost always louder. NJ and NYC bieng the worst, followed by Philly and Boston then DC. I hear them all the time when I'm abroad or even here in the US to me they are loud. West Coasters are pretty calm. Most Southerners are pretty quiet and polite unless you get a big fat redneck who wants to aregue about George Bush or something.

Black Americans tend to be very loud, its just a culture thing. Ask any Latin, Asian or white American and they will agree...even most black folks will agree.

I do think there are many other cultures that are louder than Americans. If you're talking about Europe, the Brits take the cake. Nothing worse than some drunk British guy yarning on about some bullshit at high volume. Australians are sort of like Americans in their variations from polite and shy to loud and obnoxious.

Some of the loudest are going to be your Dominicans, Venezuelans, Puerto Ricans, no matter where you go you can here them from a mile.

I think the thing with Chinese or Vietnamese, Thai, etc. to a Western person is the phoenetics. The cadence with which they speak and the pitch is so different it stands out quicker.

One thing to remember as an outside observer, other languages tend to stand out more because its so foreign to your ear drum. Its the odd pitch and rhythm of a new language that makes our ears perk up and sometimes it might seem louder than it really is.

People, of all persuasions, are louder and more obnoxious, when they are drunk and on vacation. America, because of it's structure that is based around personal freedom, gives way to the best and worst of everything. But, the best generate more productivity in any field, from science to culture than any other country. So I'm proud to be an American.

i'm sick of euro trash like kindredspirit running their mouths about Americans. Brits are BY FAR the rudest out there, followed by the aussies. They are louder, far more rude, and get so obnoxiously drunk it is embarrasing.

Honestly, I find most young Europeans living in big cities unbelievably obnoxious. They annoying trance music, fist pumping, jumpin around, the worst is all the singing and chanting, and guys hugging one another. I honestly don't know half the time if this is really what they do for a good time or if they are just trying to prove that as Europeans they know how to party/celebrate better than other groups.

Either way, its pretty intolerable at times

@Larry33 - I don't really mind when people are partying that way, when I was abroad I liked the way the Brits / Irish / Italians celebrated. I dont care if people are dancing and chanting in a party atmosphere. I think what is really annoying is when you have the loud obnoxious people when its not ok to be so. I do know what you are saying though.

Often it's the quiet ones you have to mind out for. I've been around certain cultures (not naming any names) and these cats won't say a word but they will think up a storm.

Americans are easy to figure out. It's a culture of expression. I luv y'all.

Chinese still take the cake for me. I've never encountered louder, ruder, more disgusting people in America or abroad. If there is one nationality/ethnicity I'd consider myself legitimately "racist" towards, it's the Chinese.

I can't stand their fucking language, their spitting, smoking, the way they dress, their women, their smoggy disgusting cities, their airlines, their pack mentality towards tourism, their arrogance despite being a nation of mostly illiterate peasants, their shitty, lead-tainted exports...I'll stop before I get a warning.

But their food is pretty good.

That being said, I'd have to agree that Americans in general are very annoying abroad, ranked slightly above Aussies and Brits. These nationalities seem to do the stupidest shit when they're drunk, too. Or drink too much.

Isn't this simply because getting visas as a group tourism trip is far far far easier than trying to get a visa solo?

This one Chinese girl who is coming to visit me in Japan had to fill out a ton of paperwork and apply for a visa a week or two in advance. Sounded like a terrible headache, glad I didn't have to do it.

Having been to both american and living Australia, I can tell you with 100% certainty, that Australians are fatter, louder,more obnoxious and more xenophobic.

The only exception is that the women are the only ones fatter than american women, while the men here have a sort of tradie/fitness gym culture that keeps them ripped.

However I find the aussies overseas to be not as loud of obnoxious. Some are quite chilled too.

Given TFR trends in the US, it seems that slim/fit middle/upper middle classes have below replacement rate whereas the fatties have a horde of kids.
