Bernanke being axed
Just read this on CNBC.

Bernanke recently has been axed in his replacement is a relatively unknown Fed Governor by the name of Janet Yeller.

Picture for you guys:

I don't know enough about her and the article only says she, "thinks small amounts of inflation are good."

Small amounts of inflation are fine, but when wages are stagnant than no. Any more educated people want to comment on this?

Anxiously awaiting GBFM's input.

Check out my occasionally updated travel thread - The Wroclaw Gambit II: Dzięki Bogu - as I prepare to emigrate to Poland.

Perfect time to sell bonds and raise rates.

The stock market loses 50% of its value and consumer spending plummets to near 0.

The super rich buy all the stocks and bonds out there at rock bottom prices as the small investor sells to pay rent and put food on the table.

As they're buying they're crying poor mouth and taking billions of fiat money bailout dollars they use to buy more assets.

The people beg their savior Obama to tax anyone with more than they have. The small business owner is wiped out.

Game over.

We could be in for a lengthy period of people being given high office on the basis of not being white or male. Maybe it'll take a generation of that before people realise that it makes no difference. Just another distraction.

Scary times, i'm going to spend the next year bank rolling my income into savings. I figure at least i have two years worth of job experience post college. Hopefully i'll get out alright.

I get the impression we're going to go through a sinkhole in the coming years. Extreme level of pessimism at the moment.

He is not being axed. His second four-year term ends in 2014 and it's likely that Obama will nominate someone else. Yellen is the name most often raised.

CNBC is full of people who want to sell themselves as expert market-watchers. In truth, there really is no such thing.

Yeah, nothing ever changes. The rich get richer, and everybody else yells and yells while they watch sports, be they gladiators or basketball stars.

In truth, I HOPE nothing happens. It wasn't a real party to live during the French OR Bolshevik revolutions.

RE: Bernanke being axed
At this point, given the collusion between central bankers around the world, it seems that the particular individuals in charge matter less and less.

I just think so many people are focusing on short term headlines (i.e. Greece>Cypress>Japan) and not looking at the global long term picture.

For those who haven't read Ray Dalio's paper on deleveragings, here's a good introduction/breakdown:

http://www.bwater.com/Uploads/FileManage...ewater.pdf

Also, from an interview, to sum up his thoughts on rates, what do you guys think of this statement:

Quote:The fundamental thing that they need to do most is to make sure that the nominal interest rate is at or below the nominal growth rate. I won’t get technical, but otherwise what you’re going to have is the debt compounding at a rate which is faster than the economy is growing.

GBFM is probably creaming himself. "Yellen" offers so many more rhyming opportunities than "Bernanke". This should keep him going for a couple more years. A new lease on life.
