Not a great effort IMO. There's definite quality on Bound 2 and Blood on the Leaves (thanks to TNGHT), but everything else is quite lackluster. Some funny lines though otherwise, as expected, just nothing I'll be listening to over and over.

He isn't even pissed off about the album leaking before the date. Other musicians would have been butthurt about this release, but not good ol Kanye.

I like the album so far. It's better than most shit.

Yikes! Can we get College Dropout 'Ye back please? Kanye's ability to push the envelope was definitely admirable earlier on in his career, but he has seemed to really lose himself as of late amidst trying to reinvent his sound constantly. This alternative rap garbage he seems to be on at the moment has him at rock bottom as far as anything he as putout in the past. Instead of being the guy that spit insightful and clever bars, his current form shows him as a guy who thinks that he is doing the rap game a favor by releasing(increasingly shitty) music. All while displaying a disturbing obsession with all things European as he did on Watch the Throne.

The hate for Kanye is ridiculous. I mean sure he has an ego but so does everyone at or near the top of their profession. To be that talented you have to have the self belief that you can do anything. Most likely your favorite entertainer, athlete, business mogul has an huge fucking ego. They just hide it better in public but some chose not to hide it because in their minds they're like fuck it I got all the money I will ever need who in the hell do I need to impress. This is what the average person doesn't get or ever will.

Bound 2 is my favorite song of the album, probably because it's the most like the old Kanye.

Album is okay, not as groundbreaking as he thinks it is. Not his best work nor his worst, at least he didnt include 10 features like most industry cats do. J.cole's new album born sinner drops the same day and boasts superior lyricism.

I listened to half of it. Sounds like absolute garbage. I just don't get what makes this dude so famous. I don't see the "brilliance" behind his music that everyone keeps going on about. Track 5 was the only one that seemed someone listenable to me and it's not like I'd actually purchase it.

Kanye has only made one song that I couldn't get enough of. It's 4 years old but I still play it all the time:





Alright, maybe I need to approach with a more open mind. Can someone give a list of 10 top essential Kanye songs? I'm really making an effort to "get" this guy but to no avail, except for the aforementioned track.
