They have complicated interactions here.I gradually get into it.Some basic principles are:
1.They greet or refer themselves to you only if they have a direct interest from you.In other cases you are invisible.
Generally it is a very interest driven society.
2.Everything has to do with work.Everyone watches you and refers every fault you make to the persons in charge.
Everyone also listens to your conversations.
3.To be able to offer quality work you have to be fearful of the authorities.In Germany it is very important who will scare the other and the way they do it is complex. (a constant threat and appeal).In this regard being unattractive and a person "breaking balls" as we say in Greece is crucial.German women can break your balls it is no joke.In Balkans they would get slaps but this is not a macho men dominated society.

So the general description is calculating, intellligent, ball breaking, interest focused individual.
Other principle is that noone is obliged to any form of behaviour unless what the law predicts.If it is not written on paper the German feels no need to adjust his behaviour.This comes from the fact that laws represent results of power balance between sides and noone is willing to grant over his rights to you.In this sense Slavs seem as suckers to German eyes as they usually get back and do not stand on their rights.

I think this is unfortunately spot on. Too many German girls try to appear less attractive than they could be. However this is usually only an issue >30 and not everyone is 'infected' by that.

funny, i actually found the opposite to be true when i was in leipzig. there were lots of naturally beautiful girls around. My head was on a swivel practically all the time. and in leipzig you can be sure they were germans and not foreigners.

As a native East German, I'd like to spread some inside scoop on Germany in order to complement the mostly accurate descpriptions of greek_kamaki and others.

1. East and West are not that different anymore
I suppose it is tempting for non-Germans to detect differences in girls behavior and attribute it to fact if they are from the East or from the West. But this is largely irrevelant if you look at the age group 18-28. I think I slept with enough girls from both West and East Germany to assess that neither of them are more difficult or easier to lay. True, Ossi women are often less prudish, due to the widespread nudism culture during socialist times, and 99% or so are atheist. But this does not necessarily translate into sluttier behavior. Most former high school classmates in my generation (born in 1988) from my hometown are in LTRs and whoring around is not common. There are some discernible differences between East and West, especially in the generation 28 years an older: Westerners are more cultivated and speak much better English whereas Ossis can be still very proletarian and socially awkward. The latter are also less hospitable and open-minded as well as more racist than the former. By and large you will see common behavior patterns among the above mentioned younger generation that are not too different whether you are in Cologne or in Dresden. Berlin is a different story, though, as there are more artsy and unconventional people around.

Culturally, the North-South divide is way more decisive. People in the North (including Berlin, Hamburg, Kiel, Hannover, Bremen, Leipzig) are much colder and distant than Germans in the affluent and conservative South (Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt). Looks-wise, in the North (where mentality is very close to Scandinavia) tall blondes dominate while the South has more brunettes.

2. German Women are Boring and Stonecold
If there are two traits that apply to huge chunk of Germany's female population, then it would be these.

Honestly, American women do get the most hate on this forum, possibly because most members are from the US. But even in the states I found the women a million times more approachable, feminine (yes, fellas) and warmer than in Germany (not thinner, though). When I came to the US in 2011 for the first time, I was blown away by how gratefully girls would react to my approaches. I had gotten so many random smiles and compliments that my self-perception as a man changed radically.

None of this ever happened in Germany. German women don't smile to random strangers who try to strike up smalltalk. The concept of smalltalk is not ingrained in German culture, and likewise I had to adapt to that to during my time in the states. It takes a lot of time for your average German girl to break with her usual stonecold demeanor. Even if you manage to do that there is not much to discover, as many girls here are simply boring and showing passion is off-limits for them. I'm tired of having dates in this country where conversations have no sexual tension at all and feel like contract negotiations.

I assume that German girls mentally age quicker than foreign girls of the same age. Even the semi-ambitious women who are 18 or 19 and study things like business or biology act way more adult than they are. College students of the same age in the US (I was in the Midwest, btw) are like harmless sheep. I couldn't believe how naive and inexperienced they were when I met the first them. On the other hand, Germans like to pretend that they've already seen the hardships of life before, even if they haven't. This makes them, including the girls painfully stuck-up, narrow-minded and soulless.

If you are a guy who is tired of childish girls and who looks for a serious LTR, this attitude has its perks. But if you just wanna have some fun, it can drive you nuts.

On a more positive note: I find German women extremely honest and a tad less hypocritical than American women. Most of the OKC profiles that some users posted here could hardly stem from German women.

3. Go for the Minorities
Germany is not a typical destinations for immigrants. I can recommend nonetheless to go for the few that we have, since local guys rarely do. They are usually much friendlier than German women.

These are the three major groups here:

a) Turks & Arabs
Especially the Turks are more conservative than in their home country. Many Germans are racist toward them, and Turks in return tend to stay among themselves. Maybe it's vice versa, who knows. Anyway, this is why you rarely see mixed couples with a German guy and Turkish girl: For the latter the mores within their communities determine that they can't date a non-Turk, and German guys are rightly afraid to get into serious trouble if they get seen with a Turkish girl. In general, you should also be careful with that, too, but there are some cool Turkish chicks who are secular and go to universities. They are sometimes hard to find, but once you learn that your target is integrated into mainstream culture and has German friends, you should definitely give it a shot. From my experience, these girls are extremely grateful for every attention they get from non-Turks and they are easier to date and bang than you think.

All of this applies to Arabs as well, but odds are they are more religious.

b) Eastern Europeans
A few remarks on the Eastern Europeans that many RVF-members pine for. There is plenty of them in any major city. Most of them are Russian, Yugoslavic or Polish, but Romanians and Ukrainians are also becoming more common. These people are well-integrated into society and not a visible minority such as the Turks, which is why Germans don't bitch too loudly about them. However, there is still a huge social stigma attached to men dating Eastern European women. Even among self-proclaimed educated Germans you will hear more-or-less pejorative remarks on guys who can't get laid with German women and date Eastern European golddiggers instead. That's why many men tend to stay away from Polish or Russian girls. This can work in your favor.

c) Vietnamese
Most Vietnamese migrated to the socialist brotherstate as contract workers and are therefore to be found in East Germany. The community is split: the ones that stick together and never do interracial dating & the liberal Germanized ones. I'm not particularly attracted to these girls but some of them are really cute and easy.

4. Black Guys Can Kill It Here
Among my female friends, I would say that at least 60 percent of them have expressed the wish to have sex with a black guy at least once. Black people are scarce in Germany and women will give them a lot of positive attention, especially during night life. I once met an elderly woman who organizes hens parties in Berlin. According to her black strippers get always booked and are desperately looked for.

Briefly speaking, even an average bro from the projects with no game at all could clean up easily here. Beware of racism in some parts of East Germany, though.

5. Conclusion
As a native, I'd rank Germany as an average country when it comes to women and gaming. There are places in Europe where it is definitely easier to get laid whereas others are much more difficult. I'm okay with the general appearance of girls, but obesity has been spreading recently and when I'm countries like France I'm always getting disappointed about how plain Germans dress. Sometimes, this country pisses me off like nothing else, mainly because of the thoroughly unpassionate female attitudes. On the other hand, it could be much worse (Italy, Spain, Albania).

Just to add:

- sex ratios are really skewed - in a city like Berlin you can go a whole day without seeing more than 2-3 cute girls without a male attachment but you'll see tons of dudes and old people
- the East (i.e. Dresden) seems to have pretty terrible sex ratio, it's almost the opposite of the Ukraine, there the city seems filled with hot girls only, in the East it seems like only ugly dudes rule the city
- it's easy to spend a day in Berlin daygaming and not see a single, cute Turkish girl, I can't really understand that given the huge size of the Turkish population in the city, they also seem completely absent from the nightlife

In all it's a place to avoid if you can.

I think what Atilla describes here is the effect that it has when you put a German girl (this works with many other nationalities, too) into an environment that is completely different from the one she is used to. I haven't been to LA but compared to an average German city it is of course an incredibly diverse and dynamic place that many of us only know from TV or Hollywood. Not surprisingly, your good-looking Helga walks around with an open mind and is ready to flirt, much more than she would be back home, escpecially if she is new in town or on vacation.

It's the old and well-known phenomena that guys and girls, regardless of nationality, behave differently when they are is abroad.

Consequently, this applies to American women, too. I lived in Berlin for more than three years and plan to move back. There are tons of American visitors, aupairs and exchange students to meet and once in a while I hook up with one of them. The stereotypical smartphone addicted yank, as depicted by Atilla, is rare type to encounter. For a German guy, American girls are supereasy to approach here and they are thankful to find someone with whom they can practice the language. Needless to say, bitch shields are significantly lower than in their native environment.

Do I think these American girls are hotter than our German counterparts? No, not necessarily. It's impossible to deny that Americans are more overweight than other nationalities, which is a true disgrace to the country. Luckily, both in Germany and the US I always found enough reasonably slim and good-looking yanks to go out with. And for a short-term fling I would always prefer an American to a German girl, because the latter is simply much more boring and unpassionate, as I have described above.

Don't get me wrong, the attitudes of US women can be superannoying, as I had to learn in the past. Nevertheless, I rather deal with that from time to time and feel some refreshment than bore myself to death with über-rational Germans.

I disagree. Berlin is hands down the best city in Germany for casual dating. There are tons of good-looking single girls around. It's maybe not as great as some other European capitals (especially if you don't like hipsters), but I'll be damned if I'd only see two or three cute girls a day. It's much better than that.

Interesting discussion. My favorite German city is köln, but after spending a lot of time in various areas, over three years in all, I'd have to say that Germany is a lot more diverse than is being represented here (in terms of attitudes not people). I also think the closer you get to the Rhine river and France, Belgium and Holland, the less harsh are the features that people typically complain about. There are loads of really beautiful German girls, but their problem is the twisted mentality. Sometimes I can never figure them out and sometimes they are like social robots, operating along some predetermined plan without any feeling. Among expats who've lived around Europe for a long time, most who have spent a lot of time in Germany generally agree that it's one of the easier countries to get ONS. If you want an easy introduction to germany go to Oktoberfest. The predetermined plan there is, during this festival I can do things that I would never do otherwise. So girls, get laid, for guys the main job is not getting too drunk.

In the West I always did well, but in Berlin it's a completely different thing and it's really two different cities. East and West and a lot of people on either side avoid going to the other. So you have to find which thing you fit into and know the codes to make you welcome there (dress?)

The "immigrants" are a good bet because they usually don't feel completely at home in Germany. This includes EU natives from other countries. The EE girls especially are happy to meet foreign guys who respect them because they feel like they are the same as the Germans, yet they are treated as second class citizens.

I always think that people who like berlin like it because you can drink beers for $2, smoke weed in the open and bone a new grungy, alternative, or artsy chick every week. that's East Berlin. Suit game is often a negative there, as opposed to west berlin where it is a strong positive. I agree with the opinion that there aren't so many good looking girls in Berlin, but sometimes in some underground events, you can see these killer hot blond girls with perfect bodies that must come from some deep suburbs somewhere, speaking with those harsh regional accents and not talking to anybody but there musclebound boyfriend.

MANY girls in berlin told me that they just wanted to find a guy with a real job. They don't trust the guys, because everybody is working on a plan to do something and most of the plans are planning to find a job. So the hot girls, don't go out much, stay in their own circles and private events and until you get an in on that, it's hard to find them. In Berlin there are tons of Russians. Almost all in West Berlin and there are so many in the west berlin district Charlottenberg that some have started to call it Charlottengrad. Some of these are ultra-hot and over 90% are Jewish (some visa waiver thing), openly saying they only want Jewish guys. For some of the reasons stated above, I think by Flint, they usually are not going with German guys. So in West Berlin if you can hook up into the Russian scene you can do very well, especially if you are Jewish.

@flint: your point 1 on East vs West is completely consistent with what East Germans say, but West Germans stereotypically give a completely different picture. Any failing of Germans in the former DDR is immediately explained as "They are from the East" and if you say East German girl, they say EASY!

Yeah, that's true. I never really liked either city! The startup scene is a lot of hype, but for German startups it really is the best place. A well funded startup in Berlin has $500k if they are lucky. The best startup scene in Europe is in London (in this case it is so much better that we can ignore the fact that they don't consider themselves to be in Europe). An American girl I know who worked in a bunch of startups there always got laid off after three months or so becaue they didn't have money to pay her anymore, and she was making peanuts.

Good observation, I've also noticed that the prettiest german girls (on average) live right across the border of the netherlands and Belgium, specially in the states of lower saxony and north-rhine wesphalen.. The more east and south you go from that area the lesser girls you are able to find.

5 years age difference? I can think of at least 3 cases of people I know without trying that were at least ten. In all regions, especially Munich. 15 was something that didn't raise an eyebrow. Five would be like the US and bigger age differences seem more common in Germany. In Germany there are lots of smoking hot cougars trying to roll at night in places for their age group, so that may make it easier for guys who can choose to get an older one. They also have a thing called over 40s parties and when i was in one of those there were lots of 25-30 looking for a guy. I consider their mentality to be results oriented so this kind of aspect of their culture shows with this. Make it easier to find the kind of person you want. I'm over 40 and i went out with mostly 27-35. Youngest 18 (she lied at first) oldest about. 35. All German.

EE girls in Germany sometimes are looking for already established guys and can be dangerous if you have a USA or EU passport. One Polish girl i knew told me she wants to find a rich guy.
