Anyone have a setup they bring along for music when you travel? Maybe some little speakers with a good sound that don't take up much space in your luggage that will work with an iPod? I've seen stuff like this in stores but they always look crappy. Does anyone have any decent setup like this they'd vouch for? I tried using my laptop speakers to listen to music and it sound horrible.

I was using nokia md8 for years. Standard jack, good enough for laptop and phones other than Iphone (which doesn't have a jack). Cost around 10 euros. Lasted for at least 3 years.

Take a look at the Jawbone Jambox. Packs a punch and is highly portable.

I have the SoundDock Serie III, it is small, not too bulky and has a decent sound. Great for travelling.

I have a jambox, it works fine...bass response could be better but you're not throwing a party or anything. I usually don't bring it on trips since I'm not usually listening to music that much.......volume on my Ipad is decent. Ipad w/case is usually pretty good, but I wouldn't leave it out w/randoms- too easy to slip into a purse or backpack.

I usually just get small USB-powered speakers. Plug in USB for power, the audio jack into ipod or computer. These speakers are usually about 15-30 dollars, and you can toss them if they get wrecked. Travel stuff should be geared around being "not a big deal if you lose it" imo.

Have heard good things about the jambone wireless speakers though, but then you need to leave your iphone or ipod out to change music. Thats easy to pilfer as well- ala Ali-B, Fisto, etc losing phones/ipods.

I prefer to lock up all small items (passport, wallet, keys, iphone, ipod, key card, illegal substances, etc etc)

The speaker system on my Samsung Galaxy is pretty loud and I set-up youtube playlists on my phone, or I use one of the music channels on the cable tv if I have that. I haven't invested in good travel speakers yet because I haven't found a need to.

I am an audiophile.

Shot out at least a dozen different travel size speakers. Bose Soundlink Mini wins hands down...and I generally hate Bose gear. The Soundlink Mini is the real deal. For its size, nothing else sounds like it on the market.

Supertooth disco 2. It's a Bluetooth stereo. Not the best youve ever heard but its got a really rich sound for its size. Also you can pair it up with your phone and blast music from up to 10m away, it's portable, and its got a recharchable battery that lasts 10 hours. I think you can buy it for around $90 or so.

One of the best buys I've made in the last year.
