Instagram/Facebook game is somewhere below online dating game... which in itself is far below day/real world game...

I can't remember where, but i know there's some great advice on the forum about this stuff, but for what it's worth:

I've always kept my profile pretty tight even when i used to use it as Facebook originally intended while a student, always picking the best pictures and making sure i had to approve photo tags and wall posts etc.. but 6 years on i have deleted anything over a few years old except some profile pics which are always the best possible picture of you you can find.. even if it's a few years old (which mine is now)! The rest are just cool snippets of my life.. mostly of travel and holiday pics (again only the best filtered out) and of parties and dinners or playing sports, racing cars etc all of which show me looking good and in the sorts of environments other people would like to be in..
Also my cover picture is a first person view of me lounging on a private beach with a model ex in her bikini lying on a towel. It smacks of the perfect playboy lifestyle. Again sort of an illusion but its a striking image and gets peoples attention, especially girls. They see this incredible girl in an incredible environment and relate the whole thing to me.
You have to do all you can to give the illusion of being TMIMITW whilst behind the scenes actually trying your best to become TMIMITW...

I personally don't use 'professional' shots. Ever. A few times i've knowingly got someone to take casual photos on phones thinking this will be good for Facebook etc if it comes off.. but literally just a couple of times in years. Much better to put yourself in cool environments and situations where pictures are naturally being taken by others that you can then use.
But I appreciate many guys won't have tons of photos in cool places to pick a good picture of yourself from, so if thats the case then having some pictures taken with a good camera in the right set up would definitely be advisable, but it is much better for it all to look natural. It's just like looking at girls profiles online.. you can tell the 'pro' shots easily and although they do look amazing.. you also know that that isn't really a true representation of them. Girls know this better than guys.. especially hot girls, and they won't be fooled.

Instagram is more important (and slightly more interesting to me as i actually follow cool people and enjoy seeing what pictures they post whereas Facebook is dross), i only have maybe 5 pictures of me on my Instagram, interspersed with a few hundred pictures of interesting shit i'm doing, amazing environments i'm in.. along with some holiday stuff etc etc. Again.. pic your moments but post cool pics. If you have a good eye for a photo and enough awareness you can create a very engaging snapshot of your life.

One caveat is that i'm involved in some businesses and industries that require a social media presence. So i am attuned to looking out for opportunities to post photos that make people and situations look good. Most of the time it's an illusion... but it does mean i often subconsciously notice opportunities most people may not. It's hard to catch the best things without being really consciously trying to spot them.. and that's not a very good use of time..!

Edit: One last point.. i consider my text game absolutely fucking boss. It's easily the best part of my repertoire. And all the attention in the world on any sort of online won't get you anywhere if your text game is weak. In fact for 90% of guys, red pill or not, text game has to be the most important skill to have. It sucks but in 2014 text is how girls communicate. But just like day game, get good and you stand out. With the added advantage you can reach out and pull a girls emotional chain at any time day or night..

All depends on what you post. Facebook i pretty much never post anything, just photos or something interesting maybe once a month or so. The value in my Facebook is the accumulation of stuff over time and the fact is validates me as a real person who also seems interesting to girls who've never met me. Same goes for Instagram. All girls off Tinder etc and even some younger girls from day approaches want an online profile to give them comfort.

There are guys much better than me at this.
From all my travels, I have a lot of photographer grade pictures and a friend recently taught me how to use Instagram.
I put the pictures up and hash tag everything that goes with them. I also tag the current city im and the college.

I assume girls that search the college and city tags will see them also.

It's great social proof thing. But I would think you need a lot of followers in your area to make it work.
So far I have a lot of female followers from the place I took the pictures.
They are the one searching those things.

I also put my city in the profile section.


Where you can probably make your money, is with okcupid and tinder.

Girls often put their Instagram profiles up.
Sure.. It sounds thirsty.. But if your Instagram is cool. It's a good social proof that you can let chicks safely stalk.
Since your personal information isn't there and you control what is on the page, it become a great business card for status, without having to have a big try hard online profile.

I'll also admit to being one of those people that completely hatef Instagram.

Photography is a hobby of mine, so my profile is filled with high quality photos taken with my DSLR camera. There must be a way to leverage that to get a few girls to give up some numbers.

Very interesting post. I've just started started trying this myself this week. There are a ton of legit 9's on Tinder in Buenos Aires, and they all seem to have instagram handles on their profile. So far though I've had zero luck. In the last three days I've messaged 15, of which only 5 have opened the message, and 0 of those have responded. Granted it's a small sample size, but still not very promising.

Two questions:

1) Do most girls open your messages? If so, maybe I should start adding them and liking their photos first as well. Right now I'm just messaging them without doing either.

2) You say there's no standard picture to attach, does this mean you send pics of random things? So far I've just been attaching standard Tinder-esque pics of me.

A lot of messages go in opened. I don't know if it's girls deleting them or because they aren't on Instagram .
I'm sure other dudes are dropping messages also.
At the same time, I notice some girls won't put a picture up for days at a time.

And ya, I have no standard picture. I have one that has gotten a decent amount of replies, but honestly.. Random dog pictures or vacation/beach pictures seem to work best.

I'm sure someone could make a break down of shit that gets girls going.

* I don't know if I mentioned this before. But now rust tinder has the bullshit like limit . you can hit the limit and swipe left on girls and still comb though profiles.
