India is a very complex society with huge variants of culture, religion, urban/rural gaps, modern & traditional thoughts & ideals.

Very diverse and very complex mix of thing, people & locations. 20+ different languages at a minimum. Local Dialects - innumerable.

PS: She was stupid to get into a truck with 3 dudes. I've lived in India and I would not do it unless my car was broken down and I had no choice but to hitch hike to next stop for a repair guy.

Yes, it is sad that it happened to her. The men involved should be brought to justice and what not, but I mean these kind of things just make you go "WTF were you thinking?!". So you leave a "friend's" place in the middle of the freaking night, with no means of transportation in the middle of nowhere. Don't you or your friend have any iota of sense to see that this is retarded? And then you proceed to get in to a freaking truck with three men, I mean who does these kind of things.

Heck, even guys watch themselves when they are in shady areas with risk of things going bad. It just beats me how some people just never bother to think about things for a second before embarking on such self-inflicted horror stories.

Fine, you wanted to travel solo, get a sensational experience and enlighten yourself or whatever the hell. But if you are going to do it, be aware of your surroundings, the risks involved and take proper precautions.

India might be a great tourist destination, culturally, spiritually and what not but at the end of the day it is just like any other place in the world if not worse off in numerous ways. Poverty is huge, illiteracy is an issue in rural areas, men are sexually oppressed, there is widespread corruption and the list goes on.

One of the biggest issues in India is simply that men don't have means for sexual satisfaction due to the cultural and societal barriers and impositions. But they are exposed to glamour, sexual intimacy etc through media constantly so the end result is always something of this sort. A majority of similar cases can be avoided simply by the society being more acceptable of sexual relationships in India, yes, it won't completely eradicate it but it would at least lessen it to a degree.

All I can say is that although there are problems with India, the undertaking that this women took was plain stupid and she ended up where she is because of her bad judgement and lack of common sense. The media is going to have a field day with women activists jumping up all over the place for a little while, and then things will vanish and not surface again until a similar incident happens again!!

The question is, would people enjoy watching the video if they filmed it?

I am sure Most guys wouldn't mind watching it while thinking 'this is sick, I shouldn't watch this' (but keep watching) and it will satisfy their weird desire or instinct I can't explain.

IMO, we all have barbaric instinct. we can't express it only because of the consequence we know we will have to face.
