Personally, I would like to have seen Canelo win one or two more before this one, and built up his household name status, but hey, I will be watching.

Damn Saul. You should have waited a fight or two. Your suppose to carry the crown when Mayweather is gone. His management fucked him looking at the short term dollars. If he would have waited a fight or two to have a better chance and beating Mayweather then he would become the new p4p king and moneymaking machine. If he isnt getting at least 10M then he is really stupid. Maybe his team thinks he has a chance.

I hope he isnt agreeing to 147. Then he is really stupid for taking the fight. I think Floyd was hurt by the numbers of his last fight so he needed the name. Sad that Nelo is a top five name. O well. Looking forward to hearing the details and will be headed to this fight. I wonder what the opening odds will be. I hope seats open around 600. I am not droppin a rack for nose bleed ha.

Side note. If Pacman has a great showing against Rios then are we gassing up May and Pac for the cinco de mayo fight next year again?

152. Catch weight but Mayweather is steppin up. I'm offically excited haha. Just got off the phone with my boy. Tickets go for 400 and there really isnt a bad seat at the MGM. Im trying to fly out Wednesday to catch the promotion and do a little gambling. We need to start a meet up.

I think that people really wanted to see Mayweather vs Manny. And he became the bad guy because the fight never happened. But this fight should do the trick for people who like big fights. I agree w/G and TexasMade, I wish Canelo had a couple more fights under his belt before Mayweather.

I agree.

Ideally, for the sport of boxing, the best scenario would be Canelo beating Mayweather in a trilogy for the last three fights of Mayweather's career.

And for Canelo to emerge as the most important figure in all of sports.

That would have been the dream scenario. Although those rarely happen.

Maybe now we can close that thread which discussed Mayweather ducking Alvarez.

I think I booked my flight and hotel just in time. Las Vegas was crazy for Mexican Independence last year and Mayweather wasn't even fighting then. I can see hotel and maybe even airfare prices for Las Vegas skyrocketing in the very near future.

I'm surprised nobody accused Mayweather of ducking the Klitschkos because he didn't fight either of those guys at a 230-pound catchweight.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. eastern time. They will go from $350.00 to $2,000.00. If you act fast and are willing to pay $2,000.00, you should be able to get a great seat. I saw a ticket agency selling front row tickets for about $23,000 each.

I am planning on buying three extra to flip. If I can get an extra 150 off them that will pay for my flight. If I grt five it could pay formy room too. I am trying to stay at the MGM extra??? Which is where it is at. Normally a 175 dollar room is now 400 a night. We will see.

They went on sale this Tuesday and completely sold out on or about Wednesday. I had the chance to buy a ticket which was not ringside and was many rows back from the ring for $2,000. I decided not to buy it. If I'm not in the first few rows, I don't really want to be there. In any event, I'll be in town on the day of the fight. They are presently selling tickets to see the fight via closed circuit T.V. at the MGM Grand for about $100.00 each. Tomorrow they will also begin selling tickets for closed circuit T.V. at Mandalay Bay for the same price. MGM Grand has the closed circuit rights, so it appears that only hotels which are owned by MGM Grand will be showing the fight in Las Vegas.
