The way I have dealt with this is to acknowledge but not reciprocate.

Smile, give her a hug or a kiss on the forehead (like you would a little kid) and say "thanks" or "aww, you're sweet" and just move on to another subject.

lets her know you appreciate her, but keeps her guessing.
