I would love to visit Montreal this summer but due to other trips planned my cash flow is limited. So today, I came across the Canadian rail. For only 150 round trip I can reach Montreal in about 10 hours.
That price is the economy super saver.

So my questions are...

1. Is there a huge difference in comfort between the economy and business class?

2. There are three different fairs for both economy and business. Why? Does that have to do with the amount if seats left or is there like a premium economy?

3. 9 hours on train ride seems grueling. Am I right or wrong? Is there wi fi or plug for my ipad?

Trains are comfortable, bro. Business class is really not needed as the regular economy seats are huge. Now go ahead and book that tip.

Viarail is what I'm presuming your talking about.

The reason for the price is usually most trains have actual cabins for their business classes which hold up to two people and have sleeper beds as well.

I may take a train this summer from Halifax to Montreal as well just because of the price, but be prepared for a long ride if your in Economy class.

It's way more comfy then a bus or plane. It's 9 hours but factor in the distance. You would be crossing 5-6 States if you were traveling this distance in 'muuurrica. Yeah the have plugs for your stuff and what not. It's a good trip, I believe this is how Roosh traveled from MTL to souless Toronto.

VIA only makes money on that route and the Ottawa routes. It offers great value too with these new saver fares.

I have taken the Toronto to Montreal trip using VIA Rail a couple times in the past few months. The WIFI worked fine the entire trip. The seats were comfortable and The scenery is pretty nice as well.

Much better than spending hours on the 401 in your car.

Used this to go from Windsor to Montreal this past weekend. Here are a few things to keep in kind:

1) You won't be able to use Youtube or similar high bandwidth sites(at least in economy), so if you are big on watching movies download or bring the DVDs that you want.

2)No free refreshments. Things like water and juice are like 2 bucks, beer is a little higher, around $6.

3) If you are a little taller(over 6'2) it can get a little cramped, but its not too bad. If your train doesn't have alot of people, you can sit all the way in the back and stretch your legs on the seats facing each other.

4) Don't be surprised if the trip takes 11 or 12 hours due to delays.

Other than that I agree with the others that its a solid way to get around Canada, without shelling out alot for a plane ticket.

As far as chicks go,my experience somewhat mirrored Roosh's, probably since we went at the same time of year. I went with my friend, who is a natural and we were able to get a couple instadates from some chicks we met on the street surprisingly easy. I never daygame at home and we looking back that definitely was a good strategy that we were kicking ourselves for not employing sooner and more consistently. I would say engage as many young people as you can(theres a ton due to the universities). Me and my boy happened to meet a promoter dude who got us into a great party, just by saying "Whats up?". I would also hit up the forum member here Donnie514, who told us about an epic Halloween party at New City Gas and a few other events. I'm probably going to head back in the summer, since it seems to be a much better time to visit both in terms of tourism and getting chicks. If you go definitely check out the Notre Dame Basilica, Old Montreal neighborhood, Mount Royal, Habitat 67, and Parc Olympique to name a few. Renting a bike is a good and cheap way to explore and public transport is cheap.

French isn't necessary, but I would at least be familiar with a few phrases since there were quite a few gorgeous chicks that either didn't know how to speak English or didn't want to. Definitely worth checking out though.

Absolutely do it. Just make sure to bring a laptop with plenty of movies downloaded to keep you occupied. I can't remember if they have electrical plugs now on via like amtrak does, so you might have to bring chargers/batteries with you.

Working on a project on the train, like programming, studying, or blogging, is really nice.

Also, be sure to bring food and water with you. The cost of soda/beer seemed no worse than any other restaurant that I have been to in Canada.
The food options in economy weren't gross, IIRC, but they weren't great either.

There is no point in paying for business class. I did it once and can't even remember if you even got a bigger seat. You do get a very good TV dinner with free booze.
