This is really good. It is a deconstruction by the entrepreneur Derek Sivers of what can be learned from watching a lone guy, semi-naked, dancing at a music festival. The video is only three minutes long.

It is pretty inspirational. And a real eye-opener. I just came across it at kottke.org which is an excellent daily resource for interesting links:

PS The video above also shows how easily crowds can be manipulated. It could be a 'self-selection' effect since most people at music festivals are idiots and are more concerned about being seen to have fun - than actually having fun.

Still - the above makes me want to set up something like this with some friends - maybe as a sneaky way of 'gaming' a chick you are trying to impress.

Just thinking some more about the above video. It is similar to the sort of 'tipping point' movements that Malcolm Gladwell wrote about in his first book.

Anyway - here is a thought I had after noticing something in the YouTube comments. Notice how all the people who join in with the dancers are from the edge of the crowd - and not sat right next to them? I guess - this is because those on the edgeof the crowd identify the group as being a fun group. Whereas those nearby were there from the 'beginning' and still have the image of the lone nut dancing.

This reminds me that if you want to game a girl - it is best to start by creating fun and excitement with some people (men of women) across the bar from where the girl is. It is better if she notices the fun you are having with others - before you slowly orbit into her radar (apparently by accident).

Whereas if you go in 'cold' - the reaction will be similar to what we see in the video above where people seem embarassed to be near the looney people dancing like crazy.

I am no game expert. But I seem to remember learning the above in some of the books I read.

and funny enough, this video is by Derek Sivers, who Roosh has actually run into (I think). I've had the chance to talk to him and he's an accessible, sincere guy.

Yeah - I was thinking of getting his book awhile ago. But now I am going to bump it to the top of my list.

He seems a legit guy. I really like his analysis of the video above.

I keep watching this video whilst listening to this song by Paul McCartney. The song was written in 1980 - and is pretty weird. It sounds like the sort of music you find on a Nintendo game.

Anyway - it fits well with the video above. Which makes sense - since the euphoric way the video 'builds' is similar to alot of music videos...
