RE: NFL thread
The calls in the packers games were so biased it's not even funny. So many missed calls for the Jags.

Jimmy Garoppalo has been looking pretty decent tonight as Tom Brady's replacement.

He has. I think we will be old men before the Patriots are ever bad again. As good as Brady is, the Patriots have a system that allows anybody to contribute and succeed. I think in one of their Superbowl years, none of their defensive players made the Pro Bowl and was one of the top defenses in the league. They lack name brand players (besides Brady) but sure make winners out of them.

Says the one Jacksonville fan in existence. The Packer's were getting hammered with calls. With good reason. They kept it way too close. They gave Bortles a chance at the end.

I have to give credit to Jacksonville's new defense. They're killing it.

RE: NFL thread
Atlanta Falcons always let me down. How do you lost at home against the Bucs on the first season of the game. They are horrible.

On another note, a real team the Patriots always find a way to win. I thought the Timeout management by Bill Belicheck was horrible at the end of the game but then he proved to me again why he is a genius and I'm sitting at home watching. Great game and great finish. Wait until Rob gets back, It's only going to get better.

RE: NFL thread
Jimmy was having a great game, 3 TDs and over 200 yards halfway through the 2nd quarter. Hopefully it's nothing serious, it'd be nice to get a thorough look at him before Brady returns week 5.

New additions to the team are looking solid too, loving the play of Chris Long at linebacker and Bennett and Hogan on offense.

The play on which he got hurt was actually his best play. Extending the play big time.

Garoppolo out for up to 6 weeks:

Wonder if NEW will trade with CHI to get Brian Hoyer back?

Shoot, I'm going to try out for QB. Doesn't matter who is back there because Josh Mcdaniels is a genius. They'll find a way to get through it. They will probably trade and get a QB that has played there before. They have a short week and play HOU on Thursday.

RE: NFL thread
They'll go with Jacoby Brissett thursday night and probably right through to week 5 as long as he isn't atrocious. Brissett looks good too, he had a good preseason and at times looked better then Jimmy. I'd like to see what he can do with a solid gameplan based around him, which the second half of today wasn't, they went conservative and ran the ball. My guess is they bring a veteran off the street to sit on the bench behind Brissett.

RE: NFL thread
Brissett is highly underrated. Dak had an amazing pre-season, but Brissett was not far behind him as far as passer rating goes. He was also quite underrated as a prospect with the likes of Hackenberg going ahead of him.

The Patriots will sign a guy to be safe since Brissett is currently their only healthy QB, but their in good hands with him. I predict that he will start the next couple weeks until Brady returns and look good doing it.

RE: NFL thread
My hopes for Jimmy G were to go 2-2, and he already won two games so I'm happy already, the next 2 weeks I'm not overly concerned about but expect them to pull off a win. Won't be too concerned if they lose both games, at worst that puts them one game back on the Jets with Brady coming back. I think Brady loses 1 game at most.

Peterson hitting that patented running back wall now.

He should be able to squeeze out at least one more year on his current deal and then another year or two after that elsewhere (the 2018 Vikes will almost certainly move on from a 33 yr old Peterson whose become injury prone). The end is near.

Slightly off topic, but instead trying to pursue a baseball career, why didn't Tebow try to get on a team at a different position? Surely he has a use somewhere.

RE: NFL thread
Is Bill Belichick known for having a "system"? From what I can tell he doesn't, he adapts to the talent he has, and I think that's why he's as good of a coach as he is.

RE: NFL thread
Well, if you pay attention, every season the Pats have that one player who is "injured" and has to stop playing for good. What you don't hear about is that guy always disappears the next year. Why?

Real picture of Bill Belichick in the off season:

...And that's why the Pats are so good.

P.S. - I keep telling the Bills about this but they never listen. You'll notice the Bills have sucked for 20 years. Coincidence? I think not.
