Change will occur once second generation immigrants grow older. The coming generations will be speaking Dutch, playing football, etc just like every other kid that grew up there. People will begin to view each other the same at a cultural level.

I ve never really felt that Europeans are open people to tell you the truth. Each country has a long well developed culture. It is a very prominent feature of their identities and they are protective of their heritages. Unlike Canada/US, European countries weren't built on immigration. You have these ethnic immigrants landing into ethnocentric societies. It's pretty much the definition of cultural clash. It doesn't work well.

In Canada, you have ethnic immigrants landing into a society based on mulitculturalism. It works here.

I do agree with you in part Star about the European Immigration policies. They are soft an anyone who shows up and its hurting them.I also agree with your statement about 3rd world bieng imported into 1st world societies.

We grant the top tier immigrants from Africa and from the East. That is why in Colleges all over you will meet the creme de la creme of Asian, African, European students etc. There are many programs to bring the best and brightest from far away. On the other hand some of the muslim Immigration to Europe is the same as we have with the lower class (def not 1st tier Immigration) we get from Mexico. We aren't getting the Dr's and Engineers. Much like Germany isn't getting the educated masses from Turkey, they come up through Europe and settle in Germany for its weak immigration policies.

That prof is totally in the wrong. And, I was only really referring to the burkas...not peace. That's a whole other complicated subject.

It will take a bit of time before it gets better. Its an unfortunate adaptation process for both the immigrants and the home countries.

Yeah... I feel you Lucky.

I dont know how much better it will get, or how long it will take. I mean one thing most people overlook when dealing with this type of issue, is that they always compare US to other places and well, one thing that is important to note is that while there were various cultures here that all spoke different languages and had different backgrounds, at the end of the day they were all Christian and of European origin. Latinos assimilate faster (look at your avg. Texican with pickup truck and cowboy hat) due to a European language, and Christianity + most of them are part European anyways. I think that while this can be seen a little sad, it is none the less reality. I mean look at the middle East, Look at Tribalism in Africa, Look at the stuff going on in the Balkans..anyhow lets hope it all works out.

Back to Topic...this post is specifically for people who know the Copenhagen Scene thoroughly @ RummGuzzler & Beepolo -

I will be in Copenhagen this upcoming weekend staying with a few Danish chicks I menaged with in Stockholm last summer who are cool with each other and with me doing my thing while I'm there so I will not be limited to my gaming as I was in Oslo when I was basking with the Norweigan chick the entire weekend.

I need the full run-down on the best spots to hit up game game from Thursday-Monday. Day Game, Shopping spots, Bars, Restaurant, Cafes and Nightclubs and Recreational Hot Spots would help as well.

Good News ...One of my good friends from High School just hooked me up with his boy who plays professional basketball in Copenhagen who's going to hang out with me and take me to a few spots this weekend...This is looking good! Thanks to me posting on Facebook that I'm headed to CPH (ahhh the wonders of modern technology).

So far he has mentioned to stay away from the main strip of tourist spots such as Rosie McGees, Streckers, Sam's Bar, etc.

He told me there are some cool bars in the Norrebro area such as Barcelona, Gefelicht, MexiBar, and a club also in that area called Rust where they usually play hip hop, r&b, electro, house. He mentioned a club called Jazz House in town where they play similar music as Rust but the people are a little older.

Anyone who knows CPH can recommend anything else and can comment on the aforementioned spots or add to the list?

Hi International Swagger, I'm a new brother (black guy) on this board. I've travelled to quite a few spots in Europe. I'm glad really to have found this board. I'm going to Copenhagen in a week's time. I've previously been to Copenhagen for a day before but I would like more tips on where to go. I noticed you'd already done some ground work and should be back to the US from Copenhagen by now.

What spots (bars, clubs, day game spots) do you think a brother would be a hit at? Any tips would be appreciated. I wanna be in the right places for serious same day/night action.

ok dude i have a question, how much advantage would a guy like me have in northern europe, im planning to go there in a bit and would really like to go to a place were i wont be denigrated by my race and actually have some advantage with girls over there, i dont have too much trouble picking up women but maybe some extra info will help

Funny, part of that would perfectly describe small villages where I'm from (Normandy). I've heard of poor foreign guys who had to wait years (years!) before people started to reciprocate ther "hello". But once you're in, you're in. Friendships are very strong and people very reliable.

It's all the more striking that if you go to the north (Nord-Pas-de-Calais) or to the South (Brittany), people are quite friendly. So you damn vikings did leave some traces in Normandy it seems!

Most Scandinavians speak/understand English, and their own languages (except for finnish) are pretty similar. If you want to learn a scandinavian language I would go with Swedish.
