Do you think there's a difference between being a "nice guy" and just being a "cool guy"? Both are interpreted as being "nice" in a way since they are not jerks. Is it just a difference in degree?

My impression of a "cool guy" is one who's relaxed and confident in their own skin. They display confident body language, make others feel important and special but at the same time the cool guy doesn't lose his frame or abandon his opinions in the face of disagreement. The "nice guy" shows needy body language, quickly agrees with differing opinions and puts everyone else on a pedestal while never revealing his true needs and wants.

In my opinion being 'cool' means:
- Confident(relaxed, 'laid back', not arrogant)
- High value


Being 'nice' is pretty much synonymous with beta, just some non-threatening normal dude that supplicates easily, therefore, nice.

Nothing about being a cool alpha precludes being nice. Nice doesn't mean supplicating, or not being able to be a sonofabitch when needed. Think of all the mogul philanthropers throughout history.

Being nice = You are nice to people.

Being cool = People are nice to you.

Depends on the context.

In Girl-ese/Womanabian/hamster logic

- nice = unremarkable

- cool = cool to hang out with, have a good time -> but this doesn't imply that a chick would put out for said dude. He's fun but "non-threatening".

I see it like this, you have bad boys/assholes on one side of the continuum, and you have "nice guys" on the other end of the continuum. "Cool guys" seem to fall somewhere in between but I'm just not sure where.

Being cool is about being indifferent. You've seen it all and done it all and therefore are phased by nothing. It may appear as apathy to some but it's really just subtle confidence.
