I don't have any hard data but from my casual observation, it seems like immigration is always going to make the ratios bad for men. It's seemingly rare that I meet an attractive single woman that immigrated here alone. If a woman is an immigrant, seems like she's usually married or illegal working as a nanny or in the fields picking fruit, and these aren't women you'd be looking at anyway as they tend to be(at least around here), short fat Indians from deep in Mexico. All these visas for skilled workers seem to be given out to Asian and Indian guys overwhelmingly. Maybe the exception is Filipina nurses. Overall though, it's men that are the first to go abroad looking for work, while women tend to stay home and play it safe.

The short answer is yes. It is bad for ratios in the United States, but improves ratios in some other countries, especially Mexico and El Salvador. One solution is to spend some time in the countries which send the most immigrants to the United States. I'm not particularly concerned about ratios, but that's my objective answer.

Ratios are pretty good in Mexico in my experience, but quality is decreasing by the minute. I picked out Mexico and El Salvador because the two biggest immigrant groups in the United States are from those two countries.

It's interesting, based upon early immigrant history you might assume that the sex ratio of foreign born Americans would be skewed towards men. But nope, in 2004 48% of legal immigrants were male, which is about the same as the country as a whole. So, it seems like in the modern age men don't leave behind their wives, daughter, and sisters when they migrate to the states.

However, men make up a clear majority of illegal immigrants - 58%.

But that doesn't mean it doesn't fuck up ratios for American men in practice. To the extent that immigrant men disproportionately express a preference for white girls, they may contribute to their ego inflation. The same may also be experienced to an extent by white men in this country in dating outside their race, however.

El Salvador seems to have a higher rate of immigrants than Mexico (no surprise based on the small size and relatively small population of El Salvador), but Mexico obviously has a higher overall number.

That's interesting. I remember reading a comment on a manosphere blog where a guy from Toronto was pissed because all these Indian and Pakistani guys only hit on white girls in the clubs and he was pissed at the competition it's causing for white women. He could've been exaggerating but that sentiment is out there.

I'd like to see that too. That's one statistic that I've never seen. I am aware of the people from different parts of Mexico who predominate different parts of the United States, such as people from Puebla in New York City and the D.C. area, people from Oaxaca in New Jersey, people from all over Mexico in Southern California with a strong Jalisco influence, etc.

Immigration is bad for ratios for 30+, but has little effect on the long run and are somewhat beneficial (you get a nice variety of different people (daughters) to chose from!)

Plus many immigrants coming here aren't exactly competition, they are more focused on working and making money to survive for themselves and family with them and overseas.

What is interesting here in Vancouver is a large influx of Chinese immigrants, as Canada's system allows to imigrate as a "business class", so you have tons of Chinese CPC officials and other CPC workers bringing their wives and children to Canada while still working in China. An old coworker of mine (whos also Chinese) runs pusscrook game on the older lonely Chinese housewives and also games the younger ones. Another coworker's son got married to a daughter of a HK Millionaire after he ran Chinese Church Game.

Immigration isn't so much bad for ratios as it's bad for the quality of women we're getting these days.

It's not like Swedish or Brazilian women are coming here in huge numbers. And unlike 100 years ago, we're not getting red-headed Irish lasses, huge-boobed Russian Jews, sexy Italians, or hot blonde, long-legged German women. THOSE were women. Our grandfathers didn't know how good they had it. These women came over at Ellis Island, moved out west and had daughters that inspired all those Beach Boys songs.

But if you go to a high school now, you see one or two girls from the above ethnicities I listed. A lot of the girls are from countries where the women tend to grow up to look like the mom of that bomber guy. This does not make for pleasant girl-watching. I went to my nephew's graduation a few years back and was astounded at the number of young girls done up in ethnic garb signifying Middle Eastern religions.

I know this comes off as a bigoted rant, but we're talking quality of women here. And if we all had the choice between Ireland or Iran or between Italy or Iraq, you know what we'd choose. And don't get me started on the Mexican women they're bringing over here. Women need to be taller than they are wide to retain my interest.

I've made the same point before - white girls are attractive to every race more or less, their appeal is more universal than any other major grouping of girls, at least among those you'll find stateside. There may be some specific white ethnic groups that aren't up to par (eg, Scottish, British, Ashkenazi) girls, but generally this holds true. If the ratio is 50% but half the girls are obese, while few of the guys are, the real ratio is no longer 50%. There are other nationalities that would contend with whites in breadth of appeal, but they're not here in huge numbers. And sometimes they're pretty insular - often the hottest girls will be most insistent on dating their own.

Also, that 48% male figure may not be all that indicative per se. Family Reunification is responsible for lots of immigrants, and it skews old. The female population percentage is higher among the old.

In theory, it could go either way, but in practice, immigration has not been positive in this regard. It also depends on the specific place - every area has immigrants from different places.

DOBA, Iranian girls are actually often pretty, and have good personalities if not American.

As for ratios in Mexico, it might not be all that useful, because the people coming to California from Mexico are overwhelmingly ugly, although it may be different in other states. The ratio among the pretty upper class Mexicans is probably unchanged.

If guys aren't traveling to places like Quito or Bolivia because the girls are busted, they aren't going to turn into dimes when they cross the border. At best, they age slower here but get fatter.

I've met some super fly au pairs from lots of different parts of the world, and almost all of them are single for at least the first 6 months they get here. In the west coast, you mainly have to worry about the Mexicans, but come on, you've seen the Mexican dudes who immigrate to the US. They look like this....

   

Now if you're gonna let that dude take your girl, you deserve to have her taken. Yeah you got some Asians too, but most aren't much competition.

It's hard for me to find anglo girls very attractive. The type of white girl most of guys would get in a LTR with, would be my one night stand that I would probably never call back. I'm not saying there aren't a decent amount of white girls I find attractive, but they aren't my forte. I prefer the latina or persian look. Anglo white girls are near the bottom of the totem pole for me. I am anxious to check out EE though. But white girls in the US or Western Europe just don't do it for me. What most guys would call an 8 or 9 when it comes to white girls, I call a 6 or 7.
