I agree, go and be professional about it. Learn what you can and then if you want to use "photography game" do it on your own time not your friends time.

A professional photoshoot can be a very intense and fast-paced workday where no-one really has time for some chit-chat back and forth. It's too much money involved to waste time. There will be plenty of people on the set - hairdressers, stylists, make-up girls, photographer's assistant(s), you name it. An accidental guy on a set trying to pick-up models is the last thing anybody needs (not that it can't be done but don't be surprised you will not have any opportunity for this). Frankly, I'm surprised he invited you to join him on a set. If you really want to learn the craft, focus on that. Perhaps there will be a time after shooting session at a bar, depends how this things work locally.

What about asking the models after the shoot if they're willing to model for me, so that I can practice and improve? Of course I won't be charging anyone anything because I'm a complete beginner.

Well, depends what kind of models those girls are - amateurs with little to no portfolio, this can work, pros - only if you pay them, I think (unless you'd be a famous photographer, which isn't the case).

You better know what you are doing since you have limited amount of time.

A lot of people carry those beginner DSLR these days. So you can't just grab one of those entry dslr with kit lens and expect girls to think you are a photographer.

bottom line, unless this is your true hobby or you do something related to photography, I think it's better to just Talk to girls you like.

In regards to photography game I have taken a different approach.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles and frequently visits Hollywood and the nearby beaches I run into beautiful women on a daily basis to the point where I am extremely comfortable and playful with them.

Over the past 1 and a half I started my own little hobby that plays right into the narcissistic selfie loving girls.

I call it Selfie game. It all started when I was on spring break with one of my good friends visiting a University that he was planning to transfer to. When I got there I was happy to see some good looking girls there and wanted to show my friends back home all the cute girls I met. So as a challenge I started asking the cute girls I met if I could take a selfie with them on my phone and to my surprise a lot of them were excited to do so. After realizing how fun and easy it was I decided to do it on a regular basis and it helped me beat approach anxiety.

During my journey I have taken over 1,300 selfies with cute girls I have met in Southern California, had kissing make outs with so many I can't count anymore, a lot of them let me take selfies with their nice asses as well, and I fucked a bunch of them, and I have learned several foreign languages along the way.

When I hit 5,000 to 10,000 selfies with these cute girls I'll probably apply for a Guinness world record.


After a lot of thinking recently I was considering buying a profession Canon or Nikon camera to take professional shots of these beautiful women I see, charge them a low fee, and help them get initially started on their portfolio.

I was also considering applying to be a model scout since I run into so many beautiful girls on a daily basis that is should be an easy job.

My question now is has anybody here ever been a model scout, or casting director? Also in regards to becoming a professional model photographer does it turn you into a perfectionist to the point where you obsess about getting the perfect shot even if it takes all day, and does it desensitize you to a women's beauty? Thanks.

If you want to be a great photographer and this guy really is as good/renowned as you describe him, do everything you can to make the best of this mentorship he's offered you. If you pay attention, study him, and provide value to him, you can get immense value in return. Ignore the others on here saying that there are tons of opportunities like this, there aren't. There are more than most people would think, but they are still few and far between.

Take the opportunity to become somewhat immune to women's beauty. Focus on learning the craft and be professional, but no reason not to be friendly/charming while not pursuing them. Wait until you're established before doing anything more than establishing rapport with the models. You have to take the long term approach on this. You are looking to learn a skillset that will benefit you for years to come both professionally and game-wise if you take advantage of the opportunity presented.

This is absolutely correct. With the quality of cameras available these days and the ease of use, everybody and their brother is a "photographer", which has diluted the shit out the art, and in reality very few have any kind of eye or vision for it, and even fewer are getting paid to do it, and fewer still are skillful enough to shoot models professionally. If your buddy is doing it, forget the girls for now, take in every scrap of knowledge he drops. I can assure you, if he's doing this for a living he's not playing fast and loose with the models, at least not on set, and if you want to be around this regularly you'll have to similarly professional.

If I had this opportunity I'd fly anywhere in the world to meet up with him and improve my skills and make connections. You can bang girls anytime, but you don't get the chance to learn from a true pro photographer in action very often, if ever.

I have to disagree with this somewhat. While perception is a real thing regarding "gear", its not an issue if you're professional in how you act and you have some kind of portfolio you can point to, either online or a small physical one you carry around.

There are pros that shoot with MFT systems these days, which basically looks like a point and shoot to your average joe.

A "beginner DSLR" is only one if you yourself are a beginner. The images that can be achieved through it are down to the guy holding it, and can be just as good as images from a full frame camera.

Thanks for the feedback guys. AneroidOcean, that's some sound advice. My obvious priority is to acquire genuine skill. As far as the women are concerned, I'll ask if they're okay modelling for me privately, to practice, if I feel there is some interest.

One thing is for sure, I will conduct myself with absolute professionalism in order to not burn any bridge and to not let go of his opporturnity.

@The Wire, his full-time job is outside of photography, although he could go full-time if he wants. He does national beauty paegents, swimwear competitions, private shoots, etc. This is from garnering recognition for his work.

I'm quite interested in doing this Photography game and was thinking about using it as a platform to meet models/college girls to incorporate into my social circle/harem.

I shot about 10 girls by contacting them through instagram. Some of them are kind of private photos. (no nudity, just showing some underwear)

People might think (especially guys 'hey you banged her right? lol' something might happened after the photo shoot. Nothing happened.

This is not a conventional way of meeting girls so I try to be very careful. I just talk to them friendly. Unless they throw obvious signs, I don't hit on them like I met them at a bar.

I say just treat it as having a cool hobby (like rock climbing) and just keep it friendly to see how it goes. You just have one good excuse to have her come out. that's it

OK, so photography is a big hobby of mine. I went to a local art exhibition with my camera. There was a blond hipster girl working there and I took a couple of photos of her because she had unusual looks. Then a good looking tall woman came and shook my hand and introduced herself. Noticing I was confused she said "I saw you were taking photos and wanted to say hello". She was the organizer of the exhibition and had thought I was a reporter or something. I got confused so didn't do anything.

What would you have done? I guess I could've said I was a hobbyist and chatted her up.

I use my city # to find local girls.
I just leave a comment on their photos if they would be interested in shooting with me. I leave a lot. It's like leaving flyers. You will hear from some girls who are interested. But many of them will disappear too. It's just like hitting up girls on online dating.
Sometimes I think why I am doing this stupid shit for nothing. (yeah, even if you charge nothing for their photos, it's hard to have hear from them)

I think I can keep doing this because I get excited when I produce good images and don't Want to be a photographer. Yes, I don't want to do this shit for living.

I've done 4 years making bikini videos. Most of the time you are so focused on the technical aspects of the shoot, which is hard work , you don't have time for "game".
Most models purposely don't follow up later with much communication, as they want to keep it business-like. They are probably hit on, chatted up, gamed 50% of the time. Some even express beforehand that they don't date photographers...
Depends on their need for more paid shoots or the rapport you naturally develop...
