On the fence about that one; from what I can tell the guy wasn't telling guys to get into the friendzone so they can get laid. He was just talking about making platonic friends with women.

Even though I'm not big on the idea that men and women can be friends, some guys here say they met girls through their female friends.

As long as a guy isn't exclusively 'hanging out with women' either because he wants to get laid or because he's too beta to hang out with other guys.

Seems like the video was trying to market itself to run-of-the-mill betas who are hoping their crush will "like them" if they become their friend, and those actors were cringeworthy, but the dude himself didn't actually say guys should do that.

That these ladies were part of my family, and were human beings that deserved respect. They aren't objects, and they certainly shouldn't have to wear different clothes because he can't be bothered with showing them any decency or respect. "But we're men and they're females. Is cleavage just not a thing anymore?"

I told him yeah buddy, it's not, and I won't be changing my mind about having him served. He threatened bad publicity, I told him I didn't care, and he left.

I work in the service industry, and we get the sheer joy and pleasure of meeting and talking to so many great people in our city. I've met some of my best friends here behind the bar. I live for it man. Connecting people who haven't met, making sure people can relax from a shitty day, or celebrate a great one, or just to simply enjoy a few beers with friends. I've seen wedding proposals, birthday parties, political discussions, deep philosophical debates, neighborhood organization, the absolute works. The best of humanity coming together and bonding. That's my JAM. It's one of the biggest reasons I get out of bed in the morning to come in to work day after day.

As absolutely insanely fun as that is, the dark side of this business is we run into some pretty horrible goblin people. Folks who think that just because we're serving, we don't deserve any basic decency or respect. I've been snapped at, mocked, threatened, and insulted about not having a real job. Anybody in this line of work gets used to a degree of it and develops a thicker skin. Here's the thing though, women in this field get infinitely more disgustingly treated. The sheer number of times they get groped, or harassed, or treated like objects would blow your mind. The worst of it is how normal their harassers think their behavior is. Every single lady in here handles it with grace and aplomb, and I applaud them for it. I've had their backs as we've bounced people out for that trash, but countless times they just deal with it before it even gets to me.

Sometimes the dudes get so worked up that they demand to see a manager, and I get called in to speak with them. Every single fucking time they attempt to appeal to me solely because I'm a man. They try to weasel in with me about how the women are asking for it. That women shouldn't dress that way if they don't want to be stared at. They attempt to explain it away as just "dudes being dudes." It's expected for men to stare at women's breasts and make jokes about how much they want to fuck them. Wink Wink. Of course you'll understand they think, because you also have a dick. What terrifies and enrages me is how every one of them thinks that this is normal behavior, but also that other men will agree with them.

Men, we often don't see the level of filth that our friends, sisters, and mothers go through every day. We hope to surround ourselves with people who would never treat a woman like that. We live in a safe little bubble. But the reality of this thing? It's an insidious disease that's happening every single day, several times a day and it turns my fucking stomach.

So why am I writing this? I want to acknowledge the struggle of every single woman who will read this. You deserve our respect and to be treated with decency. I want to stand up and say, I'm fucking sick of this. To every dude out there, we need to fucking combat this disease like its the god damned plague that it is. If one of your friends says something shitty about a woman, tell him to shut his fucking mouth. Don't just laugh it off or ignore it. We need to listen when our sisters talk about this, and not just blame it on some bad apples. Not just say "not all dudes do that" or "well no one I know would ever do that." Nah man. This is an endemic cultural problem. If we want to start taking our status as gentlemen seriously we need to do more than just avoiding being a sexist prick ourselves. We need to open our eyes and fight it everywhere we see it, because the only way this thing gets better is to start calling it out for what it is.

As I recall someone on the forum posting a while back - I can't remember the exact quote but it was something like "Women don't wear ass-clinging yoga pants so every chode in her view can holler at her to put his bid in. Don't think it's honestly as "recent" as is made out to be; it's been around in some form or another throughout history. Even looking back on cartoons I watched as a kid which were released in the 1950s or before (like Popeye the Sailor) I'm in awe of just how white-knightey it really was:





Not to mention conservative cultures such as the Islamic world, or fundamentalist Christianity reak of a similar 'white knightery' as well; even though the media mainly chastises them for their oppression of women, they also severely restrain male sexuality by forcing women to cover up, encouraging men not to masturbate, etc.

Essentially women are regarded much like children in cultures like this, simultaneously considered immature while at the same time considered sacred and innocent.

What I'd say is more recent is the feminist double standard we see in which women are encouraged to act like hos for the sake of "female empowerment" yet men are still encouraged to act chivalrous and put them on a pedestal. So I'd say it's really a blend the old and the new which is responsible for the modern beta male.

As far as reversing it goes; I think the best way to do it is for a guy to forget everything he heard from mommy and daddy, Sunday School, or Disney movies about how women are sweet, innocent, childlike creatures - and just start thinking of women as ordinary humans who happen to have a different set of genitals, subject to the same virtues and vices as a men are.

I believe one big difference between these betas and the alphas are that the beta are just replaying tapes in their head of how they were TOLD women are, what women want, etc - while the alphas are using situational awareness and paying attention to what actually HAPPENS, not some cheesy rehearsed lines about chivarly, "respect for women, etc".

Even just looking at the media is an example; look at the way characters thought of as male sex symbols act and behave in the films; look at how Bond behaves, or how alpha characters think and act in movies - Brad Pitt, RDJ, Tom cruise, etc aren't 'buying stuff' for women to get laid, or entering the friendzone just hoping for a chance to score, the only guys who do that are guys from the Big Bang theory - and how many women are getting their panties wet over Sheldon or Howard?

If these betas start paying attention to what alphas and the women who love them actually DO rather than what they THINK they should do., they'll realize they were just living in a solipsistic bubble the entire time.

Just to reiterate, the biggest difference I see between "then and now" is that men are still encouraged to put blinders on and treat every woman like she's Snow White, yet shit like this is lauded as "female empowerment" when in the past it would have merited a Scarlett Letter:

These guys do look. More than we do. They actually obsess over it.

It's why they take that holier than though, friend zone position. They say men like us are the ones that manipulate women in to sex. Really it's them. They don't have enough value and sexual attractiveness go get sex without it.

They are just vultures hiding in plain site. In the friend zone, sneaking peaks the entire time they hang out. Cuddling just so they can touch her and make them think they are dating. Just hoping to clean up the leftovers and scraps of what another bigger, better animal leaves behind when it has its fill. I always think which is worse. I think it's got a lot to do with self-deprivation & the competitive male spirit.

Every man craves it deep down. On one hand it's a form of testing our own will-power, discipline and see how far we can go denying our worldly wants because oddly ... it feels really good. It's the mentality behind Self-flagellation common among Catholics, 6 hour long meditation sessions and sleeping upright among Buddhists, fasting, lifting weights, running Marathons , Military training and even fraternity hazing.

^ Only men are expected to do any of the above. Depriving yourself of instant gratification physically & mentally is considered manly which is why any sort of right-of-passage from boy to man involves some sort of competition on who can self-deprive the most without breaking. Every culture and religion does this.

Since these betas' culture & religion is social justice/destructive-liberalism... all the "not looking at a woman's ass/tits" or "I'll let her fuck another man, it's her body" is their way to fulfill that male desire to self-deprave and beat other men at it.

I agree with that, unfortunately in their case it's usually just holier-than-thou posturing and has little or nothing to do with the actual underlying principles of self denial you described above. A guy like a Trappist monk or a Hindu ascetic who actually lives it in every area of life is one thing...

...but the same beta males have no problem indulging in hedonistic outlets like stale Cheetos, Minecraft addiction, and free internet porn - sex being the one thing the can't get, it's just sour grapes.

Waiter comes over and this shrill chick proceeds to order everything for both of them. Drinks, apps, food. Literally: "he'll have..." Just disgraceful.

I have enough social awareness to pick up on things like that. It was a clear case of her calling the shots. She was asking the waiter about cocktails.

Edit: I should have added this since it's related. I was with a small group at dinner a week or so ago and I didn't know one of the couples that was there, just a very loose aquantaince with the guy. He wanted to get a 2nd or 3rd drink and his chick straight up shut it down. He didn't get another drink.

I feel like some conservative or evangelical Christianity crosses over into the "white knight" territory.

In that they overemphasize virtues like chastity and modesty for men, but under-emphasize masculine virtues like courage and self-respect, along with overly-idealistic, Disney movie like views on marriage and relationships being a "blessing from god" and whatnot, while emphasizing anything perceived as "naughty" creating a boring Hallmark card idea of relationships with all of the actual "sex appeal" stripped out.

Seems like they place more emphasis on discouraging "vice" but not much emphasis on developing actual virtues; as a result you often wind up with simpering, female pleasing "Christian men" who are afraid that thinking about boobs is "committing adultery in one's heart" or something.

Most contemporary Christian music likewise has a lot in common with the whiny, emo pop punk/indie hipster style of music on the radio.

At least they also stress modesty and chastity for women unlike the far-left which encourages the opposite simply as a purile attempt of attacking the "status quo".

(I think evangelical Christianity also sometimes appeals to beta males who just can't get laid and want to invent an "ethical" excuse for it out of sour grapes, even though they'd likely jump at the chance to break their "vow of abstinence" if a hot chic actually gave them the time of day, something which I likewise see as a factor in males who openly identify as "feminist").

Modern Christianity simply observes the double standard women have benefited from ever since female chivalry fell out of fashion: make men adhere to a standard, allow women to do whatever they want.

You can say one thing about the Old Testament: it gave both sexes both barrels from the beginning. Eve's sin was to give in to the serpent's temptation; Adam's sin was to try to shirk his own culpability in allowing a woman to tell him what to do.

That was my first thought as well, but he majors in Buddhist studies and holistic medicine and works on an organic farm. Such subtlety would probably elude him. I thought the circle jerk of platitudes was as entertaining as the OP in his case anyway.

It's a good example of leftist indoctrination at work as well. Difficulty "connecting" with people is normal, and as a guy wanting to sleep around rather than get locked down is even more so. Disclosure: I'm still a practicing Christian

Mainstream Christianity is one of the most over-rated bastions of traditional values and masculinity in America. Growing up in central Appalachia, I was removed from the lunacy of 1990s PC culture and third wave feminism in my community. My dose of male villainy and pussification came on Sundays. While simultaneously worshipping the objectively despicable male characters of David, Joshua, Abraham, and essentially every other character in the Old Testament, the contemporary male was worthy only of scorn, distrust, culpability.

Girls were angels who were corrupted by their boy peers. Teenage girls were to be protected against the satanic lust of teenage boys - to the point of segregated pool parties to protect them from the notorious male gaze. My first exposure to blatant pussy pedestalization came from a "devout" male teacher who required elementary boys to remain seated while the girls left for lunch/recess. Nothing about maleness is celebrated. Man's very biological urge to procreate is met with the most disgust.

Within my Church, men are the ultimate sacrificial lambs. They were undeniably expected to be the breadwinners, to toil away to "provide" for the family. The wives were free to work if they wished. There was no stigma attached to it. However, it was from the man's salary where all expenses were paid. The wive's money was her own. And while the man was burdened with the responsibility of the family, his subservience to his wife was expected as well. Too many times I remember the pastor stating, "humorously," of men asking permission from their wives to participate in male activities of church - which usually meant some sort of maintenance or construction in the building.

And lest we forget the culmination of female entitlement, and not specific to my church, but all Christianity, speciality female services. Monetary support, free housing, outright deification of womanhood a la the Virgin Mary, free child care because the woman ran off on the father. Females in the Christian Church is some odd amalgamation of male and child. They are pampered, coddled, elevated, replete of responsibility, and yet hold immense authority without making sacrifice.

TL;DR
Christianity is as red pill as gawker media.
