Great proof of the myth of white male privilege. Synopsis - a startup founder posed as an attractive 19 year old girl with a tech startup, which gained a $125,000 bid from a California investor. He has now come out with the truth, and people are pissed.

So it was fine when he was getting funding for being a young white girl, but when it turns out he is a middle age white guy, it's now a travesty.

At the end of the day, someone invests in the business and the person. It may be a great business but the person behind it can still make it fail. I'd be pissed off in that investor's shoes because I'd be questioning the guy's ability to carry through a project if he has to result in lying.

I have personally observed this to be true. It really does make a modest but appreciable difference.

This is why all my online trader and online poker names consist of elements like "pinky", "lass", "7", "69", "cupcake", "cutiepie", "pixie", "fairy", and other girlie words.

Does it come across as a bit on my part? Maybe. I don't care. I'd rather take the extra money.

Dude is a serial liar and fraud; Just read the article. He created a "reality" website and gave fake names because really it was all staged. He had to create a false identity because his credibility was destroyed. I bet he resorts to fraud after fraud because nobody wants to do business with someone they cant trust. The guy is better off using his skills in some sort of illegal market, the pay is better and sketchy behavior is expected.
