Dirty Rotten Scoundrel: Cote d'Azur
[attachment=11415]

You've all seen the film in which Michael Caine and Steve Martin play two con artists living in Nice on the Cote d'Azur where they con rich women out of their fortunes by pretending to be what they are not. Well this Saturday I will be boarding the British Airways flight from London to Nice to run my own Dirty Rotten Scoundrel game.

Brief Backstory: I have friends who live in a large villa overlooking the Mediterranean just outside of Nice. They will be returning to their home country for 6 weeks and asked me if I would be interested in babysitting the house for them. Well it would be rude not to. So on Sunday when they leave I will have the keys to a fleet of cars, a magnificent villa, an infinity pool overlooking Cap Ferrat and a personal chef who will prepare my meals and clean, oh and I almost forgot, a large power boat with a captain ( not sure what the rules are about using it though ). For the next six weeks I will live a life that quite frankly I would never ever be able to afford unless I won the lottery and even then I might not be able to.

The Plot: I have a chance to live the fantasy for 6 weeks, to be an actor on the most glamorous of stages and impersonate the person I would like to have been had I applied myself more in life, i.e a mega rich playboy on the Cote d'Azur. Unlike Cain and Martin I don't want to scam rich old ladies out of money, I just want to chase attractive women and try to bed them but whilst doing it not as myself but as my invented character, an English blue blooded playboy.

Character Development: I have always liked the idea of escape and re-invention. The idea that you can board a flight in your home city as John Smith the Beta worker and step off the plane under a tropical sun as whoever the fuck you want to be, where nobody knows any different is an intriguing one and one I want to fully explore. Can it be done? Will you give yourself away? Will the mask slip? Will your true self soon shine out after a period? Will I just get bored of it and go back to being myself? It will be interesting to find out.

Why?: Purely for shits and giggles. I could just go down there and be my usual self but I want to try to pull this off for my own amusement. I look on it as a piece of performance art where I am both the creator and the audience ( along with you readers with whom I shall share my experiences ).

Lead Character's Backstory: So what do I tell the women I will be pursuing? Who am I? Well I shall keep my own name, it will be too confusing to give a fake one. How did I get all this wealth and end up living in a villa overlooking the Med? I want to keep the lies to a minimum so will just let them draw their own conclusions and let their minds or greed imagine what they want. The only downright lie I will tell will be my claim to be a distant member of the British royal family, again just for self amusement and so that I can have an excuse to speak with an ultra posh accent for the next 6 weeks. I think having a new voice will allow me to remain in character longer and keep my game tighter. Also I think having a fake voice will allow me to say shit I wouldn't usually kind of like wearing a mask. I have noticed this when I speak Russian.

Acting Style: Javier "I'd like to invite you both to come with me to Oviedo" Bardem style. Not my usual way of doing things but let's find out how it goes down with women.

Obstacles: A major one. Due to commitments I can only run day game, night game will be pretty much impossible until the 22nd of May. So I will be free only from 9am until 4pm for the first 3 weeks which will hinder me but I will work it out. Other bullshitters: The Cote d'Azur is full of them, I have met some good ones down there especially in Monaco who will suss me out immediately by asking me if I know so and so or what Champagne I usually order in such and such a place. Hopefully the protocol is never to destroy another man's blag. Also although I will be status symbol rich, I will be cash poor. I can't afford to be hitting all the high end places and getting table service in clubs so I will have to work that obstacle out. Another obstacle is my total lack of French.

Locations: St. Tropez - Cannes - Nice - Monaco - San Remo.

Expected Audience: I would like to close a very attractive French girl but will probably be targeting Russians and English speakers due to lack of French skills.

So let the game begin...

Dope.

Keep this one updated for sure.

I have a vested interest as I will be spending a little time on the French Riviera this summer as well.

Actually, I never have.

I need to track down a copy.

Nice!

Do you have any plans for the Cannes Movie festival? As this is the best moment to run this game.

This is awesome. Keep us updated. I will also be tracking down a copy of that movie.

I've only been to Nice once, but unlike you I stayed at the Novotel. Icon_neutral

Cool rock beaches there.

Yup.

It's more a family atmosphere in my experience. Lots of nannies down there with the kids.

A very nice warf side restaurant on the road that leads to it next to the Hotel Welcome, excellent fish.

G I will be kicking around down there for 6 weeks so if you want me to check a location out let me know, I have nothing better to do.

RE: Dirty Rotten Scoundrel: Cote d'Azur
Day game requires structured effort which will eat away your limited and valuable 'Cinderella' time that should be used for all sorts of hedonistic pleasures already at your disposal. Your scenario is perfect for running the seeking arrangement game. Make your profile seem filthy rich and seek sickest terms (harem or revolving doors since at this level they don't care anyway) and they will line up around the block, no game needed.

I know for sure that EE/FSU wannabe models and airheads would do anything for a chance to frolic expense free at the infinity pool overlooking Cote d'Azur, or ride in posh cars around Monaco, so they can fill their Facebook and VK profiles with 'glamor'. They won't care whether you are real or not, as long as you can offer them even brief access to fabulous lifestyle that's all it matters to them. So think young, skinny, girly, numerous.

^THIS!!!! Also: What kind of boat are we talking here? a yacht? This is a dream come true!! Holy shit I can't even believe I found this thread because recently I've really been interested in the French Riviera after reading about the myriad of filthy rich jet setters ranging from celebrities to multi-billionare executives who flock here at will.

Not trying to be annoying but have they sent you any pics of the estate yet? Are you inviting any people over or are there strict rules against non HB9 and HB10S lol.

I'm guessing your house might look something like this:

Lived there. If you can pull the rich guy act and have the cash to spend Monaco is your bet for the prima women. You can't fake it cause everyone there is a high roller and the cash flows like water.

Nice I'd great too. Most English speakers there.

Have fun Smile

I just saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Dope movie. They don't make movies like that anymore.

Hell, I would be interested in anything.

Beaulieu-sur-Mer (which was the real town form the movie).

Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat (the hotel in the movie).

Cagnes Sur Mer

Monaco

Antibes

Juan-les-Pins

Saint Raphael

Sainte Maxime

Saint Tropez

Any Data on any of those (ie restaurants, date moves, dope moves, nightclubs, bars, places of note, beach data etc) would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Dirty Rotten Scoundrel: Cote d'Azur
Touched down yesterday.

Everything going well so far, not had time to post anything detailed yet but I will.

I have just arranged to drive over to Cannes tomorrow morning at 11 with two Russian chicks I met on mamba who are on holiday from Moscow. I have no idea how to get there despite telling them I live in the area and go to Cannes to party all the time. I will pull the old "I left my wallet at home so I need to pop back home" manoeuvre once I've picked them up to let them catch a glimpse of the villa. I'm actually nervous as I will be having to play a part the entire time whilst whilst trying simultaneously to not spend much cash. Either way it will be a good learning curve for future escapades.

If anyone is in town and wants to come along I will be meeting them outside the Le Meridien at 11 am. Could do with a wing to isolate one at some point.
