I've been reading a lot of the last psychiatrist lately, so my narcissism and psychopathy scores may be lower than they should be. That blog has a way of making you introspect and I've been actively trying to put myself in other people's shoes, which I hardly ever did in the past.

Fairly Machiavellian son of a bitch though, whatever that means.

I sent it to a buddy of mine who's pretty beta.

He scored high narcissism and low Machiavellianism and Psychopathy, which is exactly what I would expect from the beta mindset: a high degree of self regard and entitlement, but little ability or desire to manipulate others to achieve his desired ends or disconnect from his emotions.

The beta wants it all for himself because he views himself as a deserving, nice guy, and doesn't want to think of himself as the type to sink to manipulation. Nor does he want to consciously numb his emotional decision making and drift toward psychopathy, because he has been hoodwinked into believing the fairy tale notion of love and romance.

I got N-1.8 M-1.9 P-2.5.... the last girl I broke up with berated herself audibly with "Why am I always attracted to emotionally unavailable guys?!" during the breakup so this makes sense. I took it as a compliment.

Just an idea, but maybe it would be nice to have a ROK article "X number ways to raise your Dark Triad Score." My parents raised me "properly" with the old outdated system of values that assumed you would be rewarded for proper, pro-social behavior. I figure most game advice does this, however it would be a good intro to a lot of people. I imagine the discussion board for it would be great too.

I think there may be a wee bit of bias in the test given everyone's read one article or another linking male attractiveness to the "Dark Triad".

That said, my 95.2 in Narcissism may explain why people don't seem to find me talking about myself nearly as interesting as I do, despite they themselves being so utterly uninteresting.
