Agree with Athlone he is a celeb in the MMA world only. His career is very short. When he's in his forties, he won't be '90% better than other men in terms of appearance, career and celebrity'. The meagre earnings made in UFC will likely be gone.

On the actual thread note. The guy is a famous MMA fighter, nitpicking over how many hundreds of thousands he has is absurd. He is the Lightweight Champ of the UFC if you dont think girls are getting wet for that you cray.

A lot of guys here would kill to be even D-list famous, or be talented enough in a niche endeavor to attract female groupies.

So for someone like Benson Henderson to have that, but then eschew the female access that fame and MMA accomplishment bring for a 5.5, is a huge blown opportunity and wasted potential in the eyes of many. Like if Von Neumann turned away from physics and mathematics and went into Women's Studies.

Long term ufc champions get PPV buys. Highly marketable ones i.e george st-pierre, chuck liddell, brock lesnar... the middleweight champion ...probably not. Chael Sonnen for example headlined in a title fight and received 0 additional ppv buy income.

He has the potential to make a lot of money. Hes now getting married which is the dumbest time for him to get married. He should've waited till he made his big pay days.

3-5 dollars is also inaccurate for a general headliner. Read Randy Couture controversy in recent years. More like 1-3 dollars and thats for very popular fighters at the top of the sport.

Yes he has more value than her. But people were assuming because hes UFC champ omg he must get incredible pussy. Guys, it's an advantage it isn't a single handed pussy on a platter for a guy with only decent looks and a decent thus far income out of it. News flash. Girls don't give a fuck who the UFC middleweight champion is and neither do 95% of men.

Mr. Henderson is now entering the big money world of MMA. He could very well become very rich. He isn't yet. Last nights performance was worth a lot of money. He will likely quickly become a multi-millionaire with a couple of wins and rising popularity. It seems last night was his first big pay day. In December he was paid 68k for his fight.

Theres a reason you tend to see hockey players with hot girlfriends. Hockey attracts a large female fan base. Similar arguments could be made although less so for NBA, MLB. Those guys are able to live mini celeb lifestyles.

the guy pictured could walk through just about anywhere without being recognized by females and very few males with the exception of the week or 2 leading up to and after his fights. If I were him, I'd be hitting the ground right after fight night trying to build a harem. That would be the time where he'd get the best bang for his buck.

Anyone is capable of getting a hot girlfriend. People with low incomes / high incomes / average looks / below average looks / short / tall you name it.

What Athlone is getting at is considering all the factors his gf isn't shockingly bad.

Yes, he could score lots better. But he could also score much worse.

If someone like Lebron James (very good looking, rich, celebrity), or Derek Jeter or Channing Tatum or Tom Brady proposed to her this would be news. But this is some moderately good looking guy with decent bank (albeit potential for a lot more), and a non female targetted fan base. The results aren't shocking.

Kosko has already detailed the groupie culture in another post that was well done and outlined a more true analysis on it.

None of us have fought in the UFC or been pro athletes. College sports don't count. If we had then we'd have a more accurate take on it. Right now the only one who has provided a glimpse into groupie lifestyle is Kosko whose friend worked in a high end hotel. MikeCF has briefly touched on it as well I believe. The rest of us are just guessing.

....He didn't receive any buys for his last fight so we can assume he's never received UFC ppv buy shares. He made 200k for that fight 100k + 100k win bonus. His fight before was I believe 50k + 18k win bonus or something along those lines. That would likely have been his highest paid fight prior.
