RE: Wealthy Accessories - Good or Bad Idea?
Not to turn this into a watch thread, we already have one.
I am sorry but people who think fake rolex's are passing off as real are joking, I can tell and you would be surprised alot of people can. I have friends who wear Breitling's and they get opened quite a bit by "regular" girls, not sure if the girls know what the watch is but they sure know it is expensive.
Chrome cars, broken Iphones and a rolex wannabe watch aren't cutting it in my books.

Chrome cars look ridiculous. People are generally congruent or incongruent.

I.e. someone wearing a rolex isn't wearing mexx shoes.

Use the fake stuff outside of North America / first world. Girls there won't have a clue about if it's phoney. Your only problem is then that her cousin has got a "Rotex", her brother a "Rodex", her father a "Patek Phillips", her lover a Brett Ling...

This nails its. Its a bit gauche.

Strangely, I think you could get away w/a gold chrome VW buggie or mini-cooper just because its funny/whimsical.

A lambo/ferrari- maybe. (big question mark as well)

A CLS mercedes- f*ck no. Its just bush league sh-t. If i saw this on the street, my first thought is what a moron. Maybe because in LA a CLS is a dime a dozen.

Almost like some moron wearing a polka dot suit. It just looks odd. (Saw this in abbot-kinney).

Didn't even read the thread, the only wealthy accessory you need is cocaine.

Expensive watches impress other guys more than girls. Older women like nice watches, too.

So if you want other guys to think you're successful or want to attract a gold digger, forget the watches.

But does a 22 year old girl know anything about watches? Unless her daddy is a VP, not likely.

That said, quality clothes help. Girls notice things like whether your shirt is James Perse.

Just use the Nordstrom Test. Most girls - even young girls who go to H&M and Forever 21 - view shopping regularly at Nordstrom to be aspirational. If your clothing comes from Nordstrom, it will be noticed.

Plus, quality fabrics feel better on your skin and feel better on hers. She'll want to touch you more.

Damn. Sometimes I feel so out of touch with the world.

My brother and I started calling Nordstrom, Nerdstrom like 15 years ago.

I wouldn't buy toilet paper at that place.

Sure.

But it's not about what you or your brother thinks is cool.

It's about sending a message that resonates with younger girls.

You were probably wearing DC Shoes back on the day in San Diego. I always thought skater apparel and shorts were "try hard" and "look at me, I do activities" but that stuff was "cool" at one point. Mossimo was once "cool." (I'm old enough to remember before that was at Target.)

Doubt you'd wear any of that stuff now.

Younger girls are into things older, more sophisticated girls aren't.

The OP was asking what displays of wealth he should show while travelling Europe. Not sure how the car thing got into the equation, funny how guys are so quick to mention cars when it comes to impressing the ladies.

The general consensus is to get a good wardrobe with some quality (expensive) shoes, nice jeans and a good suit just in case.

No, I got you.

I have actually walked into Nordstrom a few times since then (not by choice). I think their clothes are terrible. Real office square.

I don't even like the shoes they carry. All of it seems so wack. That is why my brother and I started calling it "Nerdstrom".

---

Hell, I remember when back when DC was a little company called Droors Clothing.

They actually sponsored two skaters I knew.

I always hated Mossimo. That was a volleyball dork brand. (Later, he tried his hand at high fashion, went public, then I think bankrupt, then Target ). I might be miss counting the history here. But he is known as a clothing legend for sure starting from the garage.

I did know I cat who modeled for them back in the day. He was older than me, swooped mass girls.

Mossimo was also very Orange County.

It is kind of strange to think back then how clothing brands really signified neighborhoods, towns and lifestyles.

Those were pretty small brands back then.

Today everything in that industry (like everything else) is all corporatized and has no meaning.

^ Yep.

TapOut used to be a very underground thing.

If you saw a guy with a TapOut sticker on his truck or shirt, you knew he was "part of the club" and trained.

Now every fat midwestern tourist wears that stuff and white trash tattoos the logo on their neck.

A little annoying to guys who were into the brand (not me personally, but I can relate) but nice for the owners.

I only see pudgy f-cks/teenagers wear Tapout now. Talk about diluting your brand value.

I have a Radomir watch, I wear it now and then but don't expect any women to identify it, if they do and they are gold diggers, do I care? No. If they pass the boner test then I will go for the lay. No one is saying you have to boyfriend them

Shoes, suit, cufflinks, watch, ties/pocket square get you noticed if that's your game. So what if she notices you because you have an expensive whatever on? Doesn't make her a golddigger, and if she is bang her and move on.
