It's good advice if you never want to get her wet, and ensure that she'll look to get her buttons pushed elsewhere.

A good variation of "calm down" is:

"Calm the fuck down. I know that acting up like this gets you everywhere in other parts of your life, and with ex boyfriends too, but not with me. If you want me to take you seriously then you can tell me what's wrong like an adult, and then we'll talk. Otherwise, get the hell outta here and *maybe* I'll talk to you later."

Haha I used to piss off my sister by telling her "caaaalm down, caaaalm down" in a really patronizing tone.

I sorta agree with the article. Telling a girl to calm down doesn't really work. The safest move when a girl is upset is to get away for a bit. By trying to get involved with her negative motions, you'll probably prolong them, and even make her associate them with you. You are the oak tree, you don't bend to her every little tantrum.

I know of one failed marriage proposal personally...dude I went to university with and always saw marriage as the end game. He got rejected by the girl while on holiday.

Years later he finally got married to a different broad. Im not sure if the marriage was the cause, but he sadly commited suicide a year into the marriage, jumping off a balcony. Brutal

To play a quick devil's advocate, here: one of the scenarios mentioned by the article is valid. If a woman is actually trying to make a point, saying "calm down" is just douchey. If she's just being irrational/crazy than yeah, whatever.

Hahaha... awesome. If girl is spanish/mexican I like to say "Calma" in a loud voice caaaaalma... then "chica, relajarse!!!" Get's them kinda flustered and they try to explain themselves.. "I'm calm, but .... blah blah blah"
