If you wanted to save a few bucks, yea sure you could head to Capitol Hill, Bloomingdale, Petworth, Columbia Heights, wherever - but you are still better off spending the same money on a smaller place in Dupont or Logan. a085 is coming from Moscow. I think he would better enjoy himself in the more international DuPont vs H Street. Divorco said money is not really an object so again, DuPont, Logan, G-Town for him.

Agreed. It really boils down to logistics: live as close as you can to the places you like to frequent. Makes it easier to get a girl back to your place later on.

North of Dupont near AdMo is the best area, IMO. You can walk to Woodley, AdMo, CoHi, U St and Dupont in under 20 minutes.

If you live near H st, you're only going to hang out near H St. Same for Glover Park and Georgetown... I could go on...

Yea. Nightlife is terrible there. But for daygame it's good. Two universities, a metro, a large wholefoods. Lots of chics around there. Plus ur not far from dupont. And you can walk to the waterfront bars which just got renovated.

This is certainly true. When I've taken dates down there, it's easy enough to get them back to my place. However, it really boils down to where you want to go out to drink and eat. For that, I'm always in other neighborhoods because there's nothing worthwhile in Foggy Bottom. Even the Circa now is overrun by people older than myself (Seems like State Dept folks before they jump on the Metro before they go back to NOVA).

Everyone was excited when that Whole Foods was about to open, but immediately disappointed with it's odd configuration and small size... Oh well. Walgreens is taking over the old Safeway space in the Watergate, so that will be a plus. Only place in DC with 3 grocery stores in a 5 block radius.

I second Foggy Bottom for day game. I was there just now. In addition to what Rakishness said, I also like the international presence there, especially during the work week. Tons of international organizations so people from all over the world work there.

On a separate note, I heard the Asia After Dark event at the Sackler Museum was a good look this past weekend. Menace put me onto it, but I couldn't make it. I saw a couple ASW folks I'm friends with on FB post pics from the event. I think it's only once a year. An outside the box type of move with potential it seems.

I was just at Circa in Foggy Bottom. That area might very well be in the best logistical area for day game in DC. Circa's outdoor bar area is sandwiched between Whole Foods and the Foggy Bottom metro station in the heart of GW's campus. Lots of foot traffic. We should host a DC RVF meetup there sometime.
