As a collective, I think we have significantly improved our writing skills. If you look at recent threads, the quality of conversation is of really high quality. Over the past six months I can't remember the number of times I thought how well said, intelligently explained, or intensely engaging a post was.

Reading the writing, and then having to respond to other like-minded men has immensely improved my communication skills.

I'm sure this has been a hidden benefit for many of us.

Hmmm, long posts with paragraphs that run more than 3-4 lines deep I generally skip. I'm sure the knowledge is there but I hate reading lengthy stuff.

The best knowledge seems to be thrown at you in words and phrases that come at you like short, uh, spurts.

That is one of the main reasons I write on here and my blog.

I could barely write a few years back.

I don't necessarily equate length with quality. Some of the most intelligent ideas I've seen here took 3 words to explain.

Although my writing is by no means amazing I can see how the process improves your train of thought and the clarity of your ideas.

They key factor, I think, is that this forum is generally more open to dissenting opinions with the general expectation that you back up what you have to say without being a jerk about it. The only orthodoxy here is that feminism is a force that is aligned directly against our interests.

Personally, my writing has improved because I know you guys will call me out on my bullshit.

What I like most about this forum is that it is full of men who strive to improve themselves and reach their potential. Virtually all of my acquaintances and most of my close friends I know personally cut themselves short and never work to improve and to change. Most people are lazy by nature, and resist change.

Most men want pussy, some want it in high amounts, but very, very few (talking about 0.1%) actually will put in the work to get there. Most men want to be jacked and ripped, but only work out at certain times in the year, depending on the schedule and how close spring break/summer are.

Etc.

From what I have started to learn about this forum is that many of the guys on here have been at this grind for years, and have lots to show for it. Others have been at it for some time, and are starting to realize how much it pays off. And others (like me) are just starting out, and starting to rip the first benefits.

I remember when I first tried to sign up and I couldn't because it wasn't the 1st. I was annoyed and had no idea why it was like that.. it made no sense to me. After I set up a reminder for myself and signed up on the first and spent a couple months on the forum, it finally clued in why it was setup that way.

I am thankful.

Mine has gone down. I use my phone much more now and it butchers my already suspect grammar. But I concur that for a while RVF helped me improve my writing skills more so then school has. It's a lot easier to frame and shape a text conversation as you would speak it and this is a lot easier for me to walk through and piece things together.

Thats a huge warning flag right there. You become the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. If you are looking to improve yourself cut back on spending time with people you hold in such low regard. Not saying cut all contact but careful about who you are letting into your life and influence your behaviour.

Try and spend more time with people who inspire you and are already succesful in the areas you are trying to improve with.

This has been one of my key personal principals for years. Try and spend as much time as possible with people who deserve your time.

Send a dic pic.
Approach at will.
Escalate.
Use more baking soad.
Stand up straight.

I need to thank G for 2 things..

1) One line paragraphs. I love that writing style. I copied that from G. It works. If you can complete your paragraph in one sentence, you need a new paragraph. Very efficient writing style. Easy to read.

2) ----- and *****

These little things are great for creating "separation". Sometimes, I want to make 2 completely different points with the same post.

These things are great for separating the first point from the second.

Speaking as a long-term reader of The G Manifesto, you're a much better writer now than in 2007-2008. HOWEVER, you don't drop as many fine in-line slang rhymes as you used to, which is a minus from my enjoyment perspective.

This is good feedback for me. I have been writing too lengthy. I like reading and writing here. So, I will make a conscious effort to be more concise so it gets more reads.

It is kind of funny, I write like I speak.

Seems like people like that writing style and a lot of people use it now as well.

Not sure if I "invented" it or anything, but it came about organically.

Back in 2005, I didn't use it at all.

To me it is easier than writing paragraphs, I am all about ease.

It's like wearing Custom Suits, I don't have to think about matching, I just throw it on and I am ready.

I know a lot of successful people in general adhere to this philosophy, but I'd like to know how this has been working out for you specifically?

I find that I'm of the opposite mindset - don't ever discount anybody because you don't know what use they may serve down the line - and while tiring in some ways, it's produced more than its fair share of benefits.
