Online dating gone wrong
So tonight I broke my own rule. I met with a girl off the internet without really knowing what her body was like. On her profile, all of her pics showed a pretty face with what appeared to be a slender body. As with all chicks on the internet,I knew that if you aren't quite sure how hot the girl is, there is a strong possibility she's ugly. However in the past, it wasn't much of an issue as I always met in discreet, out-of-the-way locations...if she turned out to be a cow, it wouldn't matter because nobody would know me.

Tonight was not like that. I suggested that we meet at a discreet, pub. But instead she insists that we meet at a centrally located cocktail bar. I knew this was a little risky. So. before agreeing, I go back online and re-examine her pics. Still the same pretty face..her arms are not fat. She honestly looks fuckable..why not? I was sure that at worst, she could pass the boner test.

I get to the cocktail bar. I notice that its hopping and full of young hotties. It's at this moment that I realize that this is getting risky. If she's fat, I might actually know somebody inside.

I stand outside and wait. Off in the distance, I see a pear shaped figure getting closer. She has the same hair color...It can't be her I tell myself. She gets closer. Oh shit, she's smiling. She's coming right towards me. ..It's her.....fuck

I try to be polite and not let my disappointment show, but I can't do it. She looks more than 30 pounds overweight. And the pretty face... its not so pretty. Its full of acne. It's as if she has eaten nothing but McDonalds french fries for the past three months.

Reluctantly I follow her inside. I feel embarrassed to be seen with this monstrosity, but at least I don't see anyone I recognize. We find a table in the corner and I try to make small talk. Its extremely painful... The whole time I'm trying to get the fuck out of here before somebody I know walks in.

And just like that on cue, a group of interns from my work walk in the door. One of them is really hot, and I've been trying to bang for awhile. Luckily they sit on the other side of the restaurant, but at any moment they could walk over, and the jig would up up.

Not knowing how to get out of the situation, I tell the cow that my ex-girlfriend is over there, and I dont' feel comfortable.... I have to leave...now....She tells me to wait for her to finish her drink, but I tell her I can't. I'll wait for her outside. I drop €5 on the table to pay for my beer, rush out the door and hop in my car.At first, I felt like an asshole for doing this, but the more I think about it, the less I give a shit, as she was the one who so blatantly misrepresented herself.

I realize I should have never walked inside the bar with her. But how does one eloquently get out of the situation? Do you just walk away? Do you flat out say, "sorry, you're not my type?"

Sounds like a case of flagrant online misrepresentation; pretty sure you're free to walk out on her immediately.

It's happened to me before too, a real fatty. But she lived on the other side of the city and I drove there. I've felt the same way about hyper trailer trash girls too who aren't necessarily fat just rodent-like.

Rookie move. You should've set up somewhere to observe her approaching where you couldn't be seen.

"Whenever there is any doubt there is no doubt."

That's the best rule for sniffing out secret internet fatties. If a girl has a nice body, why would she hide it? She put up her profile mostly for the attention, and she knows that a sexy body will get more attention. Any girl who doesn't show her body is hiding something.

You've been burned now. You will remember this lesson and won't the same mistake again.

I like that quote. Yeah, this whole incident has got me turned off internet dating for now. All you have are attention seeking bitches and fatties, and the only one's who will meet are the fatties. It may be a little better in the US, but it doesn't seem that way in Europe. Maybe in a few years it will improve. I think a better use of my down time is to entertain myself by posting a fake profile with some model type dude and troll bitches.

I think you should have called her out on it as soon as you met her and said that you can't continue with the date as the person you're looking at is not the person who you assumed you were meeting and said goodbye.#

However this is a hilarious story Big Grin

This, pretty much.
"You look nothing like your picture," (exaggerate it) "Thus, we're meeting under false pretenses, which is disrespectful if not dishonest."

Guilt her before she guilts you.

RE: Online dating gone wrong
I met a surprise fatty off POF once before. I made her buy me my coffee and got her to drive me around exploring a new city for almost an hour. She drove me back close to my car and she got out with me and walked the 2 blocks to it without me asking her to. I jumped in and took off, I guess she was expecting a kiss goodbye?

I have been in this situation before. I kept it classy. I told the girl that I am not attracted to her and I don't want to waste her time. Then leave saying " I hope you find someone soon". No need to be mean or waste your own time.

This. Or get there early, open sets, start talking to people and find someone who can "rescue" you or bounce over to if she turns out to be a monster. Basically, use her as your warm-up. Otherwise, just politely peace out. Don't make apologies for doing what you want.

This is where you fucked up, everything afterwords is irrelevant because it never should have occurred. Girls will always misrepresent themselves, you should never get to the point where damage control is required.

RE: Online dating gone wrong
always meet Internet girls on the other side of town not your main stomping grounds were your niggas might see you. I thought everyone followed that. I can't have my niggas see me with no wack bitch. enough with the slang but seriously bro. if you haven't screened her first then don't meet at a place where people you know might be just refuse. Internet dating sucks anyway too much time for too little pay off but to each his own

Said she only fucked like 4 or 5 niggas so you know you gotta multiply by three

RE: Online dating gone wrong
If her shape is in question, ask for more pictures. If she won't send them, it's trouble. Just say "Hey, I'm sure you are attractive, but I just had a bad experience with another girl who misrepresented her appearance." Once I got fatty ambushed back when I was a beginner online. This acquaintance of mine was already in the spot when I showed up. Anyway, I waited for the girl, thank god, out side. As I saw her waddle over, I bee-lined toward her, walked with her the other way for a few blocked wondering where we should get a drink to a less crowded block, then said, "sorry I am not interested." She wasn't happy. Anyway, this was 3 or 4 years ago, but everyone needs a secret internet fatty scare to whip them into shape. Never happened again, probably because I haven't gone out with an american white woman again since then. Seems like the ethnic girls don't misrepresent as much.

RE: Online dating gone wrong
for what is worth...

I always add at least five/ten pounds to the pictures of girls i see on on-line dating sites. this way i never get surprised (sometimes i do get surprised but just because they are even fatter than expected.) i don't know how they do it but they always manage to look much thinner (and prettier) than they actually are.

I got a few notches out of on-line dating (maybe 6s or 6.5s... hey a man has his needs...) but for the high quality women you got to get out... i learned this after hoping for a while that i could be lazy and still get a full-point-or-more-above-average looking women on-line...

i still have an online profile on a dating site but have no hope of getting really good looking girls out of it. the only way is to become super-fit or super-rich (working on both) and then show off on your profile.

Man I cringed so hard when you mentioned you saw your coworkers coming in..

Great excuse though. I would have probably had so much anxiety I would have made up something totally irrelevant.. 'my car needs gas' 'Gap is having 30% sale and it closes in 30 min' 'fresh tomatoes at the supermarket'..

You have the right to walk out on the date if she purposefully misrepresented herself in her pictures.

Of course I would have said something troll-like, "I'm having a bad case of genital herpes right now and I left my ointment at home."
