Might convince me to get an iphone..

Can it send out individual messages so that the receiver can't see who else was receiving? I've heard the the iphone displays all recipients.

Just tested it, yes it lists the recipients because it connects with the regular messaging app on the phone after composing and scheduling in the txtot app

I'm fairly certain you can avoid having everyone see the recipients if you turn off the "Group Messaging" feature.

This is a very interesting idea!

If the messages could also be programmed to self-destruct, or if some kind of cypher-code could make messages unreadable unless the code is disabled first, then it could useful.

It does, but if you're sending out to a group it might display the other recipients. I use it to send indi msgs fine, however

Damn, I was thinking about this idea idea a few days ago. This is good for business as well.

I was awake at 4 or 5 am and needed to send a client a text message in the morning to create the appearance that I wake up and start working at 9am and not eleven.

The Android equivalent of this is TextLater in the Play Store.

I wound up having to set my alarm and wake up at 9 to send a text.

I've been using Message Delay Express for a while. Besides scheduling the text to be sent later, it also allows the text to be repeated at certain intervals, so you can keep repeating the same text every month when you know she's ovulating.
