It does seem promising at first look and it sure will get you kind of a kiss close in minimum time, but you are going to have stand around like a jackass for some time. The camera sure plays a role, otherwise it would just be some ginger creep with a deck of cards. Also that moment when he tells the girl that kissing is magic move and that she's supposed to shove that card all the way into her mouth - it may be a deal breaker for some girls. Id be more interested in it as a trick you to be played casually in a bar setting or on a date at home, where a deck of cards 'may just coincidentally' lay around. That way you can give a decent follow up to the peck.
Let me remind you of another magic trick involving kissing. Its called tequila body shot. That one will work well with every girl who either doesn't see it coming or who is drunk enough to willingly concur. And that one definitely isn't quite as innocent as a peck on the lips, so I usually give it a try. It sure reveals your true intentions and the sheer boldness will make many girls feel challenged to the point where they don't want to chicken out on it.

^This. First of all, I am not keen on putting a playing card in my mouth, and some chicks will not want to do it either. The kiss aspect seems like a cheap trick to me.

If you happen to be into magic, and you are willing to put in the practice time to do this trick seamlessly, then I could see it being useful. The problem is that for every 100 people who know how to do a trick, only one puts in the practice and learns how to do it in a natural and convincing manner.

I would put the folded card in her hand. Put the other folded card in my hand. Throw in some patter which fits your frame, all the while putting both of my hands on hers and holding eye contact. I wouldn't do it in a clowning way, but rather in a serious manner.

She will not see it coming and will be amazed. This is a thing which looks like REAL magic to most people.

Also, there is a better tutorial on youtube which shows the trick done with a one-hand double lift which looks much better.
