I am going to be the contrarian and say that that crosses the line from the aloofness that is desirable and playful into Patrick Bateman territory. What kind of man has no feelings whatsoever towards his unborn kids? Not only that but this upstanding paragon of virtue can't even hang up the phone when he is being interviewed on tv. You guys wonder why american girls are so hard to deal with? It is because they have been raised by a generation of narcissists like this guy!

Desirable = sexually attractive.

No one here is arguing that it is morally desirable for men to be Patrick Batemanesque psychopaths. That it can be effective and is rewarded by women, though, is a sad reality you have to live with.

I wouldn't buy into the idea that narcissists somehow raised american women so they're like that. There is no simple explanation, but if one could be found, it would be that girls were raised by a generation of nice guys who gave them too much freedom, and then girls used that freedom to divorce the nice guys that they married later. That this theory, even if containing some semblance of truth, sounds so retarded, is just a confirmation that it's way more complicated than narcissistic fathers.

I think that this sort of NOT caring is attractive to women. He may not be engaging in intentional game, but he seems to have a sort of innate ability to make women go nuts over him.

I'm certainly not advocating his actions, he's obviously a shitty person. But in these days, his level of "not give a fuck" is quite often mistaken for the alpha/aloof/game version of "not give a fuck". It must be difficult for women to know the difference (or the hamster is great at disguising one as the other).

There is a lesson in here: you can simultaneously learn aloofness from this guy, but you can also learn how not to be a fucking bum.
