Hey bud, just saw this now. Glad you found it useful. The book is a must read in my opinion. While the author is very extreme in how he practises "being in the now" it has very good lessons. You need to balance having that desire to improve and succeed (ie. wanting better for yourself) while enjoying the present moment. If you aren't enjoying the present moment then what the hell is life good for in the end?

Furthermore, another thing I am examining regarding lasting longer is something called "gratification delay". Couple things I might be able to add to this conversation.
