My friend is moving to Daytona Beach, FL to attend school for 2 years and he went on https://www.crimereports.com/ to get an idea of what the crime level is like there.

He told me there are Registered Sex Offenders on every city block. I looked it up and yes it's pretty close to every block. I looked even further with larger US cities and it's even worst.

Does anyone know what it takes to become a Registered Sex Offender in the USA?

I mean does a pat on the ass make you a sex offender?

If I'm not mistaken, depending on state law, getting caught taking a piss in public can result in being labeled a sex offender.

The number of sex offenders does seem sky-high just about everywhere. There's more than fifty sex offenders living within a mile of my house.

EDIT: I was searching the local sex offender registry and realized that the owner of a restaurant I used to eat at frequently is a convicted rapist.

Much like the definition of rape has expanded to included almost anything unpleasant so has the definition of sex offender. What used to be a charge for the worst acts, now includes a lot less serious stuff.

I read an Economist article awhile back about the list of sex offenders is getting so large with minor offenders that cops cannot properly track the dangerous one. Also the article went on to say that being on the list pretty much made life hell. One couple had one of them become 18 while the other was still 16. Got slapped with statutory rape and life was over for him. People don't read what the sex offense was so they treat everyone on the list as pedophiles. And once you're on the list, you'll never get off it.

I think if you even propositioned a 16 year old in a AOC 18 state, you could could get something like "incitement to lewd behavior" or some bullshit, then you're marked for life. It's a way for legislators to get some mileage and no one will ever for making the laws more liberal. "Tough on crime" is a guaranteedvote getter. They'd pass laws for summary executions for anything if it would get them votes, but people want some shred of reasonableness.

Yep, the system is fucked up, and Americans have a proverbial hard on for sex offenders. Even women that go to bike week and flash their tits can be put on the list. The pendulum has swung to far. Unfortunately though, convicting a sex offender, no matter how trivial, is a huge win for local prosecutions.

It's not just domestic. The AOC for Americans reaches internationally, to 18+. Players beware. You can and will be extradited, if caught, not matter the local laws.

To give you Euro cats a better idea of how bad it is. Here, your better off doing time for armed robbery than getting on that list, cause your life really is over. Even worse than receiving a dishonorable discharge from the military.

I just looked at that website and one of the offenders in my area is a guy I see everyday in my college library watching gospel videos

Holy shit, there are a ton of offenders in my area. Funny thing is that one of the offenders in my area is a thirty something year old woman who was convicted of third degree rape of a 17 year old boy. All of the male offenders got 3 to 5 years in prison. The lady who raped the 17 year old boy only got probation. ya gotta love the American justice system.

Here in Ohio last year there was a female teacher probably banging a half-dozen of her students. She went on trial and was sentenced to less than five years.

The lowest you can go overseas is 16, no matter their laws. Even the AOC is 12 in a country, you can only go down to 16.

Its hard to take the age of consent thing seriously when it varies from 16 to 18 between borders and female teachers who fuck their high school students are given a slap on the wrists while their male counterparts are given 15 to life in Federal prision.

I would never recommend this because it's a crime, but theoretically someone could blackmail her. Of course that would be illegal so I strongly recommend no one ever do it. It would also stress they shit out of her.

I looked at the one in my area and it's ridiculous. I scrolled over to the poor part of the city I live in, and it is insane. There's at least 100 registered sex offenders in a 3 by 4 mile block in the poor part of my city.

But seriously, there are laws restricting registered offenders from living nears schools and parks. In some places it is almost impossible for them to find legal residences. So they are forced to congregate in certain areas.

In Cincinnati there's a whole camp of homeless sex offenders living by the river. It's one of the only places they can live and not violate the 1,000 ft. rule.
