RE: The NBA Thread
^ Irving put up ~40 points. The L is not on him in any way whatsoever.

My thoughts on the game:
- Cavs settling for too many 3's; how many did Love shoot in a row before he got one down? They're trying to mirror the Warriors' offensive strategy for some reason
- LBJ not driving enough
- Pachulia is a dumb brute
- I underestimated KD big time. He's clearly stepping up to the occasion
- More on KD - he's completely unstoppable on the perimeter
- Kyrie is by far the best at driving in the league
- Klay was the key factor for GSW tonight. He finally came out with his A game
- Series is over

No, that is the reason they took the L.

Kyrie is a pure scorer but he has no business shouldering the load for the team. When Kyrie leads the team in scoring they turn into a lottery team. They rarely win when Kyrie goes off on the stat sheets. Let Kyrie get his 25 points in his sleep and then come in the clutch late.

However, I enjoy narrative collapses.

I noticed the game was close, and managed to find a free stream right before that Durant 3 in James's face.

People really need to stop ascribing their silly little stories and narratives to sports... they way-underestimate randomness, and under-appreciate very basic principles of probability.

Retard-havens like /r/nba/ were saying stuff like a 2-0 home team lead was only like holding serve in tennis. What a bunch of mental midgets, I was almost rooting for the Warriors, lest the Cavaliers win and the retards think they're prescient.

Love, JR, and Korver weren't scoring enough. DW his backup was abysmal on the court. What's the alternative?

In other news, Lebron played 45 minutes of 48... Completely ridiculous.

How about the Warriors are just the better team by far. Even with 20 turnovers they still won on the road.

RE: The NBA Thread
Refs did a bang up job trying to extend the series.

I'm not even a fan of the GSW or Durant, but we have to call it as it is, we've watched some legendary play from Durant, scoring 7 in a row in the closing seconds and that 3 dagger in the face of Lebron. Durant just wants this the most. Not going to let it slip. Literally seeking out and going at Bron again and again, making sure no one who watches is in doubt who is boss now. He plays on a great team, but this is all Durant, I haven't seen the kind of mano a mano attack mentality since the 90s.

Tristan Thompson is just extra corny, extra Canada Dry. He is goofy even by Canadian standards so I could only imagine how strange American's must think he is.

Here is where the Cavs come back and pull off the impossible in NBA history (coming back from 3-0 down to win the chip) thus solidifying Lebron as the best to ever lace up a pair on the hardwood.

LeBron James Alleges Racist Graffiti, Still Zero Evidence

LeBron wants to be more than a basketball player. I always respected his game but personally...there were always issues. Of course as a Heat fan you can call me a hater but seriously, who the fuck leaves Miami for Zanesville Cleveland?

LeBron wanted to be the big shark, and he couldn't do that in larger than life Miami. Pat Riley kept a firm grip on the team and LeBron couldn't handle it.

While LBJ was shilling for Hillary, KD was in the gym with Steph, plotting and scheming their way to the trophy.

On reddit someone said Cavs were +7 in the 46 minutes Lebron played. Warriors were +12 in the two minutes he sat.

Unbelievable, Cavs role players simply suck compared to the Warriors.

#Redbeard - come on, did you watch the game? No way this is on Lebron.

+- is flawed. Lebron had a better +- than Irving in the 3rd and Irving put up an all time great performance there.

Fact is, Kawhi and the Spurs were up 20 against this team. Cavs haven't been up 10.

Kawhi with a starting lineup of Murray (rookie), Danny Green, LMA (who has been trash) and Gasol (36 years old).

Lebron hasn't played a lick of defense the entire finals.

This shit's all on LeBron.

He disappeared the final five minutes, blew a layup and then settled for a fadeaway because he couldn't take Draymond off the dribble. Then he hid on defense, staying on Draymond while Durant was torching Korver and Tristan.

These comparisons to Jordan are ridiculous, LeBron's not even on Kobe's level. No way Kobe goes the last 5 minutes without scoring in the Finals.

Yeah, disappearing in the final minutes is what happens when you have a guy on the floor the entirety of the game and rely so heavily on him. Look at all the breaks Curry and Durant got. Warriors can do that because they have other players who can carry the load. Cavs without James are lucky to make playoffs. Warriors without Durant still win 73 games.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged 45.8 mins per game for his entire career. He also averaged 48.53 in 1961–62.

Players today are pussies. LeBitch and the media will figure out a way to put this on his teammates and clear himself of all wrong doing.

Lebron always disappears in the big moments at the end of games. It's what he's always done. He may have a great game but when his team needs him most that dude is nowhere to be found. Plays big boy ball all game then as soon as crunch time hits it's little tykes. That is by far the weakest part of his game.

Kyrie played well. Hell even Love has played well all series. The only reason the Cavaliers are losing is because they are overmatched and don't play a lick of D. They will be lucky to win the next game.

RE: The NBA Thread
It's Lue's fault; he's simply not a good coach. He needed to get the Cavs to work on their godawful transition and backcut defense, and come up with something better than screen into iso LeBron or iso Kyrie a few feet away from the three point line, especially in view of the Warrior's defense. When the hot garbage that is Zaza Pachulia is killing Thompson on the boxouts and turning his rebounding to being worse than Curry, and the opposing team is shooting 50/40/90 over the past two games, that's when you know you need to change something, but nope, I guess that isn't happening.

That is also Lebron's fault since he can't humble himself to play under a good coach and needed the yes man that is Lue. He bolted from the Heat just because he couldn't stand Pat Riley telling him what to do.

RE: The NBA Thread
Lebron doesn't "dissapear", that's also a myth.

Lebron just does not have confidence in his ability to get a good shoot in a tight spot and rightly so. Go look at how Lebron shoots from midrange or even worse, pull up mid range jumpers. He is a below average, if not poor, midrange shooter and mid range jumpers are often the only thing you can get in tightly guarded 4th quarters.

We've seen Lebron play for 14 years now. He can't shoot a midrange and it hurts him. He can't get easy buckets in the post either.

That's also why Lebron gets gassed late games. He goes all out driving for 2 quarters at 250lbs. That's not energy efficient for someone his size. His lack of ability to get easy post buckets has hurt him his entire career.

It's also why he can't be in the GOAT discussion, he simply does not have the full offensive game to really be reliable.

RE: The NBA Thread
The warriors are simply a better team. 73 wins last year and now Durant. That's just insane if you think about. They added the 2nd best player in the league to the best team.

I liked how the cavs played a lot of isolation last night, but they need to slow down the game even more to win.

I agree with nomadbrah about LeBron. In Miami they started pushing him to the post more where he could score a lot easier. He was getting much better at it. His efficiency was absurd in Miami.

Now he has ignored the post again and is back to running the floor and driving the basket every time. While its amazing to see a 6'8" 250 man move like that, it does seem to tire him a bit at the end of games. The fact that the warriors run every possession doesnt help either.

"It's better to burn out then fade away."
