Agreed on all your points

I would also argue that as a guy with minimal athletic gifts coming into a league matching up with the likes of Wilkins, Jordan, and Bernard King night after night you would have to have an unshakeable frame and self-belief

Good call on Bernard King. A forgotten master.

RE: The NBA Thread
Been playing some old school NBA games lately.

I don't follow the NBA now like when I was younger.

Social justice issues being one reason why.

But damn, I miss the NBA of 10, 15 years ago.

Start Lineups for the 2005 All-Star Game:

T-MAC, Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, Yao
Iverson, Carter, LeBron, Grant Hill, Shaq

Bench:
Nash, Allen, Manu, Dirk, Amar'e, Matrix, R. Lewis
Wade, J. O'Neal, Ilgauskas, Pierce, Arenas, Ben Wallace, Antawn Jamison

VC, LeBron, Manu, Dirk, Pierce, and Wade still in the league.

Officiating was terrible in that cavs/warriors game all around. Kyrie clutch. But w's blew 14 pt lead so can't be mad. Didn't like Kerr's substitutions in the 4th.

RE: The NBA Thread
NBA just can't let the "rigged" ghost leave them alone.

Cavs/Dubs game had Refs who were all on holidays. That silly review on Thompson's late shot was a ruse to give Cavs a chance to draw up a play. They miss the illegal substitution from the Dubs as well. The game ends on a rump as Durrant breaks away from Bron but goofs up and trips away from the match. Kyrie once again shows that he is a shit disturber who knows how to break legs at the key moments. He is more clutch than Bron.

Overall NBA should get lumps of coal from barring my Raptors a Christmas Day game. The Raptors after a game in Utah had to fly back for Xmas to Toronto before going out west again. The NBA could of easily put them in OKC, and you would have had an entertaining game with Westbrook and Lowry going at it. Instead, they have the dog ass Timberwolves who are a team with young stars but are trash and not primetime worthy.

NBA politically hates on the Raptors as they can't make as much money when they are on TV as they the USA TV holders (ESPN/TNT) can't sell advertising in Canada and get any revenues, so they just resist to showing the Raptors as much as possible. Added headaches of games here in Toronto with both networks TV crews having to cross the border. It is legitimate means to cause a hindrance, but the Raptors are a top level team in the NBA now and should share the floor with the rest of the top level teams that are all almost represented today aside from Houston.

RE: The NBA Thread
If I were a journalist, I would ask Kevin Love at the post-game press conference how he can possibly play with such a racist player as LeBron James who refuses to stay in hotels owned by or associated with a white President. I would also ask him if he faces any discrimination on the team, or is forced to convert to a certain Black Panther type ideology just to get touches.

Great pickup if you are a Cavs fan. They are already a lock to go to the finals with virtually zero competition in the East.

Welcome to the thread Sassy.

I'd like to see a different finals matchup this year: Raptors vs. Rockets maybe?

No doubt the Cavs will get in. If a team were smart they would stock some picks and stay young for the next couple of years for when the Cavs get dismantle and Lebron loses a step/gains weight.

As far as the West goes well it's a toss up between the Warriors and Spurs. I have no confidence in the Clippers because right Paul or Blake (maybe both) will probably be both. Then again, they always find a way to choke.

Yeah the Cavs will get in. Would just like to see a different team. From Canada, but not a Raps fan.

West is a toss up for sure. Like the Spurs, Rockets, even Clippers. Pop is a Trump hater though, "I'm just sick to my stomach. The Grizzlies are just full grit and grind! Love Z-Bo! They don't have massive stars but they just always form together as a team. So odd seeing Chandler Parsons only playing 15 minutes a game. Would be great to see them make it.
