she's an actress. she's the first to admit she's not attractive and full of quirks and weirdness. the show Girls does NOT paint her in a flattering light at all, she needs meds because of OCD, she fucks a junky cause she's outta her mind, she can't have a stable friendship or relationship with male or female.

I was about to make a comment about how the show not portraying her in a feminine light is part and parcel of an overall strategy by her to make her natural behaviors socially palatable, but I realized that I haven't actually watched the show. all of those bitches on that show are despicable. they treat their friends like enemies, they are inane, they are irresponsible, they are neurotic, they are self centered.

and lena dunham writes them that way on purpose with no sense of irony.

there is no glamorizing at all.

Here's what I've noticed.

There are a lot of girls who watch this show religiously. In the same way that the older generation watched Sex and The City.

At the same time, I've spoken to a lot of girls who say they hate the show.

All that aside, I believe that putting Lena up there as a protagonist is not so implicitly telling women across the nation that they can be ugly and fat and still be famous with their own show on HBO.

This is very dangerous (and I'm not over-using the word dangerous here). The more people except fatness as a viable option, the more health problems our country has.

Not to mention the fact that it makes our lives as players more difficult because now we are going to have even more fatties to wade through.
