Well the marriage 1.0 made even beta males more alpha so the woman was less likely to cheat and divorce too. Especially when the society encourage the man to be head of the household.

Yuck at South America. Hypenated bitches are usually ultra annoying and wear the pants in the family.

The ONLY reason I would even let a potential wife keep her name is if it is attached to some sort of professional entity, in which case I wouldn't marry her anyway.
